Folktales: The Legend of the Golden Pony

There is Zhang Caiyuan in the southeast of Zhandian Town. There is an old man named Zhang in Zhang Caiyuan Village. He said:

A long time ago, there was a golden pony in the east. Why? At that time, people liked to get up early and would go to the roadside to pick up dung at five o'clock.

One day, he was wandering along the road early. When he turned under the big locust tree at the east end of the village, he found a golden figure on the grass beside the wheat field not far away. The foal is willing to eat the green grass. He thought: Whose family does it belong to this time? However, before he could reach it, the golden pony was gone.

The next morning, he still saw the golden pony. On the third morning, he still saw the golden pony. For several days in a row, he would see the golden pony every day. He also wanted to catch it and take it home, but he didn't get anything. However, the crops in the east grow robustly and have good harvests year after year.

In 1938, Lao Ri (called "Japanese devil" by the locals) occupied this place. One night, a big event happened. It is said that among these Lao Ri, there was also a man who knew Feng Shui. It is said that his ancestor came to China to study in the Tang Dynasty. This man searched around and finally discovered the Golden Horse's Cave in the south of the embankment. These hateful old people used Xiuhe and Weidi as a cover to quietly trick Jinmaju and Jinmaju out of the mouth of the cave and take them away.

Since then, people have never seen the foal again, but occasionally, they can hear the whimpering cry of the foal coming from the crop fields to the east. However, no one has seen it again. Perhaps its soul is unwilling to leave its hometown.
