Where does Dr. Transverse Fan Bridge belong?
The doctor bridge with horizontal fan, formerly known as the eight-character bridge, is located in Group 3, Sidu Village, Hengshan Town, Wujiang City.
Built without review, it was originally a wooden bridge. According to legend, it was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty (1368 ~ 1398). On the bridge, there are two rivers across the East-West Henggang and the North-South West Port, and the southwest of the intersection of the two ports is a cow-shaped polder (agricultural polder). At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, a Feng Shui gentleman came to this place and said that the word cow was like a lying cow. If you can put two horns on the cow's head, it will be a good Long Mai that people look forward to every day, that is, the "Mr. Right". There was no "Mr. Right" after the site selection of the Eight-character Bridge, but Liu Bowen, a strategist in Hongwu period of Ming Dynasty, broke the "Feng Shui" and built a "Guanyin" in the middle of the Eight-character Bridge, nailing the "lying cow" alive like a nail, and the "Mr. Right" could not get out from now on. Guan tou Guanyin still exists in the figure-of-eight bridge, where people make incense. So the locals built a bridge on Henggang and Xigang respectively. The two bridges were shaped like a figure of eight, as if a pair of horns were installed on the bull's head. These two bridges were originally called splayed bridge, and later renamed Doctor Bridge (in the local dialect, "splayed bridge" and "doctor" are homophonic). The name of this bridge has pinned the expectations of local people for "noble people". In the 12th year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1873), it was made of stone from Chongwu Temple and abandoned nearby. Both bridges are beam stone bridges. /kloc-0 was listed as a cultural relics control unit in Wujiang on July 29th, 994.
