Code for layout of fire water tank

The Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings does not stipulate that the fire water tank must be set in the stairwell.

Normative change

In the previous fire code, the water quantity and elevation (the most unfavorable water supply pressure of fire hydrant) required for fire fighting high-level water tank were specified. See section 8.4 of Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings (GB 500 16-2006) for indoor fire water consumption, fire water supply pipes, fire hydrants and fire water tanks. As for where to arrange it, there is no rule.

Structural requirements

The weight of fire water tank (including water) requires the bearing capacity of building structure, which is generally easy to meet in stairwells and elevators.
