What is the effect of carbon deposition in automobile intake?

It mainly affects power and fuel consumption, and serious carbon deposition will aggravate the wear and tear of parts.

The harm of carbon deposition to the engine can be divided into two aspects: structural damage and performance degradation:

(1) Structural damage:

Various structures that constitute the combustion chamber in the cylinder are the main parts where carbon deposition occurs, including piston crown, spark plug, in-cylinder fuel injector, intake and exhaust valves and cylinder inlet of intake pipe.

(2) engine performance is degraded.

Power drop-The main reasons for power drop caused by serious carbon deposit are: carbon deposit in spark plug weakens ignition ability or leads to ignition failure, and air leakage in cylinder (at valve and piston) leads to pressure drop, which is obvious at heavy load or low speed.

Increase in fuel consumption-power reduction will be accompanied by a certain increase in fuel consumption, because to obtain the same power as before carbon deposition, it is necessary to increase the throttle opening and increase the corresponding fuel supply. Therefore, when the fuel consumption increases for unknown reasons, it is necessary to check whether there is carbon deposition in the cylinder.

The emission of pollutants in exhaust gas increases-usually, the increase of pollutants in exhaust gas will only be found during the annual inspection of automobiles. At present, only carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides are detected, and all three indexes can rise or exceed the standard when carbon is deposited, which may appear earlier than the decline of power and the increase of fuel consumption.

Other changes-difficulty in cold start, abnormal noise during acceleration, etc. It may also happen; When the piston carbon deposit is serious, it may cause the piston ring to get stuck, scratch the cylinder wall and cause serious air leakage (cylinder pulling).
