Who is Lianxi? What contribution?
Zhou Dunyi (10 17— 1073), whose real name is Mao Shu, was originally named Dunyi and Qiao Yuan, a famous philosopher, educator and writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. He is the founder of Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties, and his ancestral home.
Since the age of 24, he has been an official in Xiushui, Nanchang, Ganzhou, Xing Zi and other places. From his official career to retirement, he has always attached importance to education, and founded Lianxi Academy in Jiujiang and in Xiushui, Pingxiang, Ganzhou and Nanchang (or Lianshan, Zonglian and Jinglian). He devoted himself to writing, leaving the first chapter of Neo-Confucianism in Song Dynasty, Tai Chi Tu Shuo and Shu Tong, thus becoming the originator of Neo-Confucianism in the history of philosophy.
Zhou Dunyi's thought
Zhou Dunyi was the pioneer of Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties. Zhou Dunyi put forward many new problems in the study of predecessors' thoughts and works. He wrote Shu Tong and Ailian, and incorporated his own views into it, which further promoted the development of Confucianism. In the article "Shu Tong", "moving but not static, static and not moving, things also. Moving without moving, static without static, so does God. Move without moving, static without static, static without static. Things are unreasonable and everything is wonderful. " This is one of Zhou Dunyi's famous sayings.
All these reflect Zhou Dunyi's dialectical materialist philosophy. Later, this sentence was highly praised by philosophers. Zhou Dunyi did not completely separate motion from stillness. He thinks that stillness and motion are relative, not absolute. As a reference, perhaps everything in the world is at rest with the naked eye. Actually, it's moving and changing. It follows its own laws and changes every day.
In addition, "I love the lotus only, but I don't touch the dirt, the ripples are clear but not demon, the outside is straight, the fragrance is far and clear, and the plants are slim and graceful, so I can look at it from a distance without being ridiculous." This sentence comes from Zhou Dunyi's Love Lotus. Zhou Dunyi used "Lotus" as a metaphor to express his noble spirit of not colluding with the dark forces.
