Beishan Ancient Temple is located at the foot of Xianling Mountain in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, facing south. Covering an area of more than ten acres, the cornices are upturned and magnificent. Surrounded by mountains and trees; In front of the temple, the Yumen Pass is stacked with waves, and the fragrance pours down; There are many flowers and trees in the temple with beautiful environment, which is the best in the county. The mountains around the temple are green and the streams are gurgling; The temples in the temple are connected, and the inscription is exquisite. It is a religious complex integrating Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Beishan Temple was founded in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, and was rebuilt or rebuilt six times in 1869 (eight years of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty). Walking more than 1,000 meters along the path behind the temple, there is the Preface to Ode written by Zhang Benzhong, who was the magistrate of Yangshan County during the reign of Shao Xi in the Southern Song Dynasty (this poem is two poems of Huanxisha in the Song Dynasty, and it is an original calligraphy of Zhang Hangti. 1962 was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province and was listed as the 57th year of Qing Qianlong (1792, the magistrate Pan Yuanyin (Huayang, Sichuan)).
Lotus spray pool completed
As an important part of Xianling Mountain's application for national 4A-level tourist attractions, the main project of the second phase expansion of Beishan Ancient Temple was completed in September, in which the Lotus Le Pen Pool is a unique Buddhist cultural landscape with a large scale. The ancient temple in Beishan was built around 1540, and expanded for the sixth time in 2004, aiming at building it into a place for Buddhist religious activities with tourism, leisure and mourning characteristics, and helping Xianling Mountain to declare a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Shi Hongman, member of the Guangdong Provincial Political Consultative Conference and director of the Chinese Buddhist Association, raised good funds for the expansion, and invested 654.38 billion yuan in three phases. 40 million yuan has been invested in the first two phases. The second phase of the project covers an area of 150 mu, and three new temples, sutra depository, abbot's room, Guanyin Hall and Buddhist cultural cloister are added. Among them, the Lotus Le Spray Pool has a large scale and adopts the design of double lotus thrones. The diameter of the big lotus pond15m can spray 20 kinds of water.

On 2005 10/8, a grand ceremony was held in Beishan Ancient Temple to celebrate the completion of Daxiong Hall and the opening of the Buddha statue. Since then, Yangshan tourism has added new hot spots and highlights, and the ancient temple in Beishan will become another Buddhist holy place in Guangdong and a tourist attraction in northern Guangdong.

Beishan Ancient Temple was built in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, with a history of more than 460 years. Located in the beautiful Xianling Mountain in the north of the county seat, it is quiet and elegant. It is an important tourist attraction and the only Buddhist temple in Yang Lian, Qingyuan. Due to various reasons, the ancient temple in Beishan has been in disrepair for a long time since the late Qing Dynasty, and failed to play its due role.
In 2003, the United Front Work Department of the county party committee invited Master Shi Hongman, vice president of the Provincial Buddhist Association and abbot of Baolin Temple in Shunde, to be the abbot of Beishan Ancient Temple, and raised money to expand the ancient temple.
Up to now, Master Shi Hongman has raised more than RMB10 million, and the county government has allocated 400 mu of mountainous area. The relevant departments reduced or exempted various fees, and reconstructed power supply lines, set up cable TV cables, built parking lots and paved roads for Beishan Ancient Temple free of charge. After more than a year's efforts, the first phase of the project was fully completed in June 2005.
Today's Beishan ancient temple is built according to the planning of imitating the Song Dynasty style and the ten-square jungle architecture, which is solemn and precious and has a unique style. Daxiong Hall is resplendent and magnificent, Lohan Square is resplendent and magnificent, and bell and drum towers are dotted around.
After the completion of the second phase of the project, the main buildings include the western paradise, the sutra depository, the lotus pond and the stupa, and the ancient temple in Beishan will become another Buddhist holy place in Guangdong and a tourist attraction in northern Guangdong.
