(5) Manage public welfare weather forecasts, disastrous weather warnings, professional weather forecasts and public meteorological services related to the urban environment and natural ecology, undertake emergency meteorological support services, and manage meteorological information spread.

(6) Responsible for the management and utilization of climate resources, and responsible for conducting climate feasibility studies on urban planning, national key construction projects, major regional economic development projects and large-scale climate resource development and utilization projects.

(7) Responsible for releasing public welfare meteorological information, weather forecasts, severe weather warnings, meteorological disaster warning signals, urban environment weather forecasts, fire hazard weather forecasts and other special forecasts.

(8) Responsible for formulating artificial local weather modification operation plans, managing, guiding and organizing the implementation of artificial local weather modification operations.

(9) Responsible for the management of balloon launches, organization and management of lightning disaster prevention work, and inspection of buildings, structures and other lightning protection facilities.

(10) Organize publicity and popularization of meteorological and astronomical scientific knowledge, raise awareness of meteorological disaster prevention and reduction and climate resources; carry out meteorological scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges.

(11) Supervise the implementation of relevant meteorological regulations and investigate and deal with violations of meteorological regulations in accordance with the law.

(12) Undertake other matters assigned by the municipal government and superior departments.
