What are the stories about Mount Tai?

There are countless famous mountains in the world. Why do the emperors and all living beings in the past esteem Mount Taishan in Dongyue alone? This starts with Pangu, the founder of the world. Legend has it that a long time ago, when the world was first formed and the heaven and the earth were separated, there was a man named Pangu who grew up between the sky and the earth. The sky rose one foot higher every day, the earth became ten feet thicker every day, and Pangu also grew taller every day. One foot. Day after day, year after year, he lived upright like this. After a long period of eighteen thousand years, the sky was extremely high, the earth was extremely thick, and Pangu grew extremely tall. The air he breathed turned into wind, the sound of his breathing turned into thunder, and his eyes blinked. , flashes of blue light, this is lightning. When he is happy, the sky becomes bright and sunny, and when he is angry, the sky becomes cloudy and rainy. Later, Pangu slowly aged, and finally passed away. In an instant, the giant fell to the ground. His head became Dongyue, his belly became Zhongyue, his left arm became Nanyue, his right arm became Beiyue, his feet became Xiyue, his eyes became the sun and moon, and his hair It turned into vegetation, and the fat became rivers. Because Pangu created the world and created the world, later generations respected him as the ancestor of mankind, and his head became Mount Tai. Therefore, Mount Tai was called the supreme "No. 1 mountain in the world" and became the first of the five mountains.

Dongyue Mount Tai - The Legend of Changshou Bridge. On the Black Dragon Pond in Mount Tai, there is a bridge flying from east to west, like a thick eyebrow growing across the dragon pond, conveying affection to tourists; like a rainbow leaping out of a mountain stream, adding color to the dragon pond. The vermilion color of the bridge contrasts with the green mountains on both sides. People walking on it can have a bird's-eye view of the Longtan scenery and the open-minded beauty of Xixi, which is truly beautiful. This is the eye-catching Changshou Bridge. Changshou Bridge was built by Zhang Peirong, the governor of Yanzhou, in 1924 when Zhang Zongchang was in charge of Lu, but it was not for the convenience of the people. It is said that Zhang Peirong was famously afraid of his wife. Although he was majestic in front of the soldiers, he was submissive and obedient in front of his wife. To him, his wife's words were imperial edicts and military orders. Mrs. Zhang controlled such a rich and powerful husband, so she spent extravagantly and had fun. One day, she heard that Mount Tai had beautiful scenery and many people practiced immortality there. She also had a whim and wanted to practice Taoism and become an immortal and become a Buddha immediately. So he asked her husband to go to Mount Tai to acquire land to build a temple. Zhang Peirong "led the order" and came to Mount Tai. He saw that near the Black Dragon Pond, surrounded by green mountains, there were green trees, green bamboo pavilions, towering ginkgo trees, clear streams along the road, and the shadows changed with every step. There were two peaks, Aolai and Furong, reaching up to the sky. It is majestic, with dragon pools, waterfalls and the tranquility of trickling streams below. It is truly a wonderful place, and it is a good place to practice Taoism and become an immortal. So he decided to build a temple here, respecting his wife as "Zhenren Wuji", and the temple he built was named "Wuji Temple". After the Wuji Temple was completed, Mrs. Zhang wore a cassock and sat on the lotus throne. Zhang Peirong led the officials and gentry of his respective counties and the people nearby to kowtow to the "Wuji Master", worship him, and print the Wuji Sutra. Scattered in various counties, the unrolled book is the Taoist idol of Wuji Zhenren. Zhang Peirong respected his wife as a goddess and fairy. Feeling ashamed, he erected a stone tablet praising his virtues outside the Wuji Temple. The temple is located in the west of the stream. It is inconvenient to cross the river and gorge in and out of the mountain. Zhang Perong built a long bridge on the Baizhang Cliff. In order to please Mrs. Zhang and let her become an immortal and live forever, he named the bridge " "Longevity Bridge". Speaking of Master Wuji, sitting on the lotus throne for ten and a half months still felt fresh. After a long time, the lotus throne also felt uncomfortable to sit on. He really couldn't stand the hardship of temple life, so he quietly "retired". The legend of the back of Taishan Mountain in Fuzhou. Since ancient times, the Ru water flowing from Nancheng and the Yihe water flowing from Yihuang have been like the arms of a loving mother, embracing today's Fuzhou City. Here, the river reflects the blue sky and shines with enchanting waves. It has been flowing for thousands of years, nourishing and irrigating thousands of acres of land. Here, the soil is fertile, the trees are lush, the crops are green, the grass is thick, and fruits are everywhere. Here, everything is prosperous, birds are jumping for joy, and livestock are at ease. Here, all living beings jump with joy, cows roar, birds chirp, frogs chirp, butterflies fly and bees buzz - you can enjoy the days of competing with gods here.

Legend has it that there is a male goat who has been practicing Buddhism for hundreds of years. His beard is white and long, and his buttocks and short tail are bare. However, because it could never get rid of its "troubles", it never became an immortal. It always complained that the environment for its cultivation was not good, and its mind could not be "quiet". One day, after it heard a few birds chirping in the tree and talked about the situation of the Feng Shui treasure land, it ran to this treasure land. Once it saw it, it couldn't leave and wanted to practice Taoism here. Soon after, it became restless again and complained about the living beings living here, saying that they were running around and making noise, which disturbed its pursuit of immortality. They told them their troubles, but everyone was still busy with their work step by step, and tried to comfort them not to trouble themselves, otherwise they would go into caves deep in the mountains and old forests to cultivate immortality. Xian Yang thought that if he wanted to cultivate immortality, he must have a good environment, but where could he find such a treasure land again? It thought and thought, and accidentally rolled down the hillside. As soon as it rolled, it rolled into a depression, with its feet in the air. It couldn't roll anymore even if it wanted to. Tieguai Li happened to be passing by, so he sprinkled the fairy sheep with the precious water from the treasure gourd, turning its four legs into four hills, its abdomen into a dirt bag, and its genitals into a stone. Standing on the dirt bag. Therefore, this treasure land was named "Yangcheng". That stone was named "Taishan Monument" by some good people, but due to Fuzhou accent, it was mistakenly called "Taishan Back". It is said that if superstitious women in the past were not pregnant, they would go to the rock on the back of Mount Tai and sit for a while, and they would become pregnant. Later, during the continuous construction of cities and houses, this stone was also destroyed. The Legend of Taishan Shigandang In many places across China, stones, stone tablets or stone figures with "Taishan Shigandang" written on them are erected at key points on roads and bridges or built into house walls to ward off evil spirits and suppress disasters. Legend has it that there lived a young man in a village at the foot of Mount Tai. His surname was Shi and his given name was Gandang. This person is very brave, has strong martial arts skills, is not afraid of anything, and loves to fight against injustice. He is very famous in the Mount Tai area. Fifty or sixty miles south of Tai'an, there is Dawenkou Town. One year, the daughter of a family named Zhang in the town was haunted by a goblin. Some people say that evil spirits cannot be cured by just taking medicine. The evil spirits should be driven away. I heard that there is a brave Shi Gandang on Mount Tai. Why not ask him to find a solution? The girl's parents prepared their carriages and horses and went to Mount Tai to find Shi Gandang. Shi Gandang came as soon as he was invited. He said: "This matter is easy to handle. We have found twelve boys and twelve girls. Each of the boys plays a drum, and each of the girls plays a gong. Then prepare a pot of sesame oil, roll the cotton into a thick wick, and a sip of A pot and a chair, as long as these things are ready, I will definitely be able to drive away the monsters." As soon as it got dark, he put the wick in the sesame oil basin, lit the oil lamp, held the basin with the pot, and sat next to it. , holding the edge of the pot with his feet, so that even though the lamp is lit, no light can be seen in the distance. It was getting dark, and with a whistling wind, the goblin broke in through the door. Shi Gandang kicked the pot away, and the oil lamp immediately gave off a dazzling light. Twelve pairs of boys and girls beat the gongs and drums together. The monster was startled and quickly escaped and fled towards the south. The goblins ran to Fujian, and some people in Fujian were haunted by goblins and became seriously ill. The fairy once said: "I am not afraid of the sky or the earth, but I am afraid of Shi Gandang from Mount Tai." So after people heard about it, they invited Shi Gandang to Fujian. When the fairy heard that Shi Gandang had arrived, he slipped away quietly. He fled to the Northeast again, and people invited Shi Gandang to the Northeast again. Shi Gandang thought: "As soon as I chased it away, it fled elsewhere. The country is so big, how can I run here? Yes, there are many stones in Mount Tai. I asked a mason to carve my hometown and name on the stones - --Taishan Stone Dare to be used. If there is a monster in the house, put this stone outside the door of that house, and the monsters will not dare to go in. "Sure enough, the monsters stopped coming when they saw this. Since then, people have used stones with "Taishan Stone Gandang" engraved on them to house houses and ward off evil spirits, and this has been passed down to this day.

On the left side of the Dai Temple, there is a Taishan stone with a sharp blade and a demon under its feet. It serves as a statue of Mount Tai. The legend of the independent doctor of Mount Tai is that Qin Shihuang climbed Mount Tai and came to the foot of Shibapan. Suddenly, it started to rain. He felt unwell, so he stopped and sat in his sedan chair. I was resting under a cypress tree, and when I was half asleep, I saw an auspicious cloud floating from the top of the mountain. Standing on the auspicious cloud was an old Taoist with gray hair and childlike face, holding a green cypress branch in his hand, and handed it to the First Emperor, saying: " Your Majesty, I know that you are not feeling well, so I have come here to give you some elixir to cure your illness." The First Emperor was awakened by the dream. When he woke up, he felt refreshed. He saw the cypress tree protecting him from the wind and rain. He was so happy that he sealed the tree. The cypress tree is the "independent doctor". According to the legend of Mount Tai, the emperor granted the Tiankuang Palace to the Tiankuang Palace. The Tiankuang Palace is located in the middle of the Dai Temple and is the second main building. It is painted with heavy colors, simple and elegant, with double eaves and overlapping corners. Like an eagle spreading its wings, the gentle breeze blows. Come, the wind chimes are ringing, making the surroundings look particularly quiet and refreshing. The magnificent Tiankuang Palace of the Tang Dynasty is almost the same as the Jinluan Palace in Beijing in terms of scale and form. It is said that there are countless connections between them! According to legend, a long time ago this was just a small mountain temple, surrounded by The walls are in ruins and are in disrepair for a long time. They are leaky and have no shelter from wind and rain. On rainy days, it rains heavily outside and lightly rains inside. The Taoist priests in the temple are very worried about this, and the officials are worried. If no money was allocated, he decided to save money to build the temple on his own. A year later, the Taoist priest collected all the money thrown by the pilgrims and the silver he got from alms, and hid it under the altar of the mountain god. One night, in the dead of night, the Taoist priest took out the money and checked. He found that he had enough money to build the temple. Don't mention how happy the Taoist was. His laughter was as clear as the sound of silver coins. He knelt down devoutly in front of the statue and said, "Master Mountain God, I have given you enough money to build the temple. It won't be long before you give up." I'm worried that the wind and rain will make me suffer." Unexpectedly, the Taoist priest's behavior was seen by a thief who came to stay. After the Taoist priest fell asleep, the thief stole all the money under the altar. The next day, when the Taoist priest found out, he cried anxiously as if he had lost his life. He looked up and saw that the mountain god was still sitting there with a smile on his face. Still laughing! I have been living frugally for more than a year, and I have finally saved all this money. How can you build this temple if you can’t even afford to live in your own home? At night, the Taoist priest couldn’t think of eating. He lay on the bed in a daze. He fell asleep, and in the haze, he saw the mountain god walking towards him with a smile and said: "Don't worry, the temple will naturally be repaired, we don't need to do it ourselves. Now in the capital, the emperor's aunt is seriously ill, and famous doctors from all over the country have not been able to cure her. I have three incense ashes. You can take them to her for diagnosis and treatment, and they will be available at the temple there. "After saying that, he took out three packets of incense ash from his sleeve, so he packed up and entered the capital. As soon as he arrived in the capital, he saw many people gathered in front of the city gate to read the notice. When he inquired, it was the emperor's daughter who had given birth to a human face. The Taoist priest was so happy that he could cure the sore. He tore off the notice and entered the palace in a big way. Not bad at all, and the grinning look was scary, but he thought that after curing the sore, he could build the temple, so he didn't care. When he applied the ashes, he heard the sore scream for mercy. Just like that, the Taoist priest came forward. After three days of treatment, the sore closed on the first day, scabbed on the second day, and was completely healed on the third day, with no scar left at all. When the emperor learned that his daughter's disease was cured, he was very happy, so he left the wound. The Taoist priest summoned him into the Jinluan Palace and gave him many gold and silver treasures, including silk and satin, but the Taoist priest didn't want any of them. The emperor was very puzzled. There were also people who were not moved after seeing the treasure, so he asked hurriedly: "What do you want?" "The Taoist priest told the emperor truthfully about how he had saved money to build a temple. He only asked the emperor to build a small temple. Building a small temple was not a trivial matter, so the emperor immediately agreed and asked the Taoist priest what kind of temple he wanted to build. The Taoist priest is a person who never goes out of the house. He has never seen the world. He looked around and said, "I think your house is not bad, so let's build it like this."

"How can a poor monk live in the same Jinluan Palace as the emperor? But the emperor has already promised to give him whatever he wants, how can he break his promise to the people? He reluctantly said, okay, just build one like this , but it is only three bricks shorter than my Jinluan Temple. If it is three bricks shorter, it is three bricks shorter. The Taoist priest did not say anything, so he quickly kowtowed to the emperor to thank him. Therefore, the current Tiankuang Temple is the same as the Jinluan Temple in Beijing, only three bricks shorter. Not far from the north gate of Dai Temple from Jun Xiu Shoes Dingshan Gate, there is a stone square called Daizongfang, which is far away from Dai Temple. It is said that climbing Mount Tai starts from here. It is said that Bixia Yuanjun always disliked the place after he climbed Mount Tai. She was small and not impressive enough, so she tried every means to expand her territory, cheating a little in the east and occupying a little in the west. In this way, she "cannibalized" a lot around Taishan. Yuanjun was the princess of the Sun God, and the gods attacked her again and again. The encroachment can be tolerated, but who can bear it for a long time? All gods came to Jiang Ziya to complain, hoping that Jiang Taigong, who was in charge of the power of conferring gods, would speak for them. When Jiang Taigong learned about it, he came to Mount Tai with the list of conferred gods and made it clear. , the fifty miles around Taishan were under the jurisdiction of Bixia Yuanjun. Yuanjun originally wanted to expand his territory to Wenhe River in the south and Yellow River in the north, so that there would be mountains and water, so he could go out for recreation. The land was fifty miles in circumference, and Yuanjun was very unhappy. He kept arguing with Jiang Taigong every day to claim the territory. Jiang Taigong had no choice but to look at the Buddha's face instead of the monk's face. This offended Mr. Yuan, and it was hard to explain to the Sun Lord, so he told her. : My aunt, please don’t be angry. Can we discuss it again? After negotiation, the two made a "gentleman's agreement": Yuan Jun can just find something and throw it down the mountain. Yuan Jun can take care of it wherever he throws it. Where. Yuanjun wanted to use my magic power to find stones quickly, at least a hundred and eighty miles away, so he picked up a stone and threw it down the mountain. Jiang Taigong hurriedly stopped him and said, "There are stones everywhere. Where can I find it if I throw it down the mountain? "Yuanjun thinks this is reasonable, but what special mark should we look for? Jiang Ziya offered advice: "Yuanjun, I think your embroidered shoes are very good. You can find them wherever you throw them. "Yuanjun thought about it. The shoes are lighter and can be thrown farther. Besides, if I throw one, I still have one. Others can't be lazy, so he readily agreed. Yuanjun took off his shoes and worked hard with all his strength. Throwing it down. Yuanjun was really smart. He was confused for a moment, and because the shoes were so light, they fluttered down the mountain. Only then did Yuanjun realize that he had been tricked by Jiang Ziya, but it didn't turn out well now. They retorted and followed the gods helplessly to the bottom of the mountain to look for the shoe. Not far away from the mountain, they saw the shoe lying on the grass. The shoe was red and the grass was green. It was very eye-catching. They calculated that it was only a short distance from the top of the mountain to here. For twenty years, Bixia Yuanjun was mute and could not tell the story of his sufferings. Yuanjun had no choice but to build a stone pavilion here as a mountain gate, because Mount Tai was also called Mount Dai, the leader of the five mountains. , so it was named "Daizongfang". There is a stone square not far from Daizongfang when the Yushi Guofeng White Crane Spring is inscribed. The Shuanglong Pond is connected, and the spring water flows out from the dragon's mouth. It is a great sight. People in the neighboring villages do not all get their drinking water from here. However, now the spring has dried up and the canal is connected to the Shuanglong Pond at the foot of the mountain. The spring water flows from the Longkou. It flows out with sweet and clear water. There is also a canal connected to the Shuanglong Pond at the foot of the mountain. The spring water flows out from the dragon's mouth, spraying pearls and spitting out jade. It is a great sight. People in the surrounding villages do not all get their drinking water from this, but now the spring has dried up. It's a huge shame that it's closed. Speaking of how the spring dried up, of course there was a reason, and people were indignant every time it was mentioned. According to legend, during the Qing Dynasty, there was a scholar named Ma in Tai'an. He even dreamed of being promoted and making a fortune, but he failed despite repeated attempts. Even now that he is over sixty years old, he has never been awarded a Jinshi. He once swore that in his life, he would not be famous for eternity, but would be infamous for eternity. It happened that the imperial court was opening a new school that year, and the emperor saw that his temples were stained with frost and he had a big beard, so he made him the prince's teacher. Not long after the emperor died and the prince ascended the throne, Feng Jinshi also gained momentum and was named the censor. With the emperor as his backing, Feng Jinshi felt that he was strong and powerful, so he did whatever he could to do evil. He was jealous of the virtuous and capable, framed Zhongliang, and the civil and military ministers all Dare to be angry but dare not speak.

Many years later, when Tang Monk came back from studying for scriptures from the West, the turtle had been waiting here for a long time. As soon as Tang Monk arrived, he asked with great interest, had the old Buddha agreed? But he said that Tang Monk had completely forgotten about it. When the mail came to the turtle, he couldn't help but feel ashamed, feeling ashamed that he had failed it and quickly apologized. Wugui was jealous at this time and wanted to take the opportunity to take revenge on him, so he asked Tang Seng to get on his back. When they arrived in the river, the turtle lifted Tang Monk into the river. By the time Tang Monk was rescued, the scriptures had already been soaked in the water. The master and the disciples had to open the Diamond Sutra page by page and put it away. After drying it on the stone flat, it took a lot of work. When it was dried and harvested, it was discovered that the scriptures had already penetrated three-thirds of the stone and could not be peeled off. After that, people named this valley "Jingshi Valley" and the stone flat where Tang Monk and his disciples lived were named "Baojing Stone". After Tianzhu Yuanjun Pu Yunqiao walked the Happy Three Miles, he faced a unique small bridge called Yunbu Bridge, which was made entirely of blue granite. This bridge was in front of the cliff, hidden under a group of pines, with a waterfall. In front of the hanging, clouds surge behind, the sound of loose clouds is like a tiger roaring in a mountain stream, and the turbulent rocks are like a dragon roaring in the sea. Yunbu Bridge, formerly known as Yunmu Bridge. According to legend, Bixia Yuanjun competed with his elder brother to sit on Mount Tai. The two brothers refused to give in to each other, so they agreed that whoever climbed to the top of the mountain first would own Mount Tai. The date of climbing is scheduled to be March 15th. Yuanjun knew that the Three-Inch Golden Lotus Mountain Climb was no match for his brother, so he visited and investigated in advance and found a shortcut to the top of the mountain. As soon as the day of climbing arrived, Yuanjun followed the route he had surveyed in advance, climbing over mountains and ridges, crossing ditches and climbing slopes. He came to Happy Three Miles. Yuanjun was walking at the right pace when he suddenly saw an abyss blocking his way. There are cliffs all around. Even if you have wings, you can't fly over them. This puts Yuan Jun in a difficult position. Yuan Jun was so anxious that there were tears in his eyes. Yuanjun was feeling worried when he heard a "click" sound, and a pine tree several arms thick rolled down from the mountain. It happened to be right across the mountain stream and became a small bridge. Yuan Jun was saved from a desperate situation, and his sadness turned into joy. He couldn't help but sigh: "God help me!" As he said this, he stepped onto the bridge. However, it was difficult to walk on the single-plank bridge, and Yuan Jun had small feet. Besides, he couldn't see the bottom of the bridge at a glance, which made him dizzy at a glance, so Yuan Jun had to retract his feet. Yuan Jun was now in despair. There is no village in front of it, no shop in back, it is deserted, and there are still ghosts crying and howling in the distance. He couldn't help but sigh: "Oh my god, why are you teasing me like this?" Yuanjun couldn't stop crying, and suddenly he saw a white cloud floating down from the top of the mountain. Floating at the bottom of the bridge paved the mountain stream, and the bottomless abyss was no longer visible. So Yuanjun crossed the bridge steadily, climbed up quickly, and sat on Mount Tai. Yuanjun's chief historian climbed up according to the determined route. They walked around Mount Tai and climbed to the top of Mount Tai at Xiangwu. By then, Yuan Jun had been waiting at the top of the mountain for a long time. All his hard work was in vain, and he didn't get to sit on Mount Tai. Afterwards, people regarded the day when Yuanjun climbed the mountain on March 15th as her birthday. Every year, many people offered incense to her to celebrate her birthday. The small bridge built by pine trees was named "Yunmu Bridge". After several repairs, it was changed into a stone bridge, and its name was also changed to the more poetic "Yunbu Bridge".

The legend of Mount Tai is one of the Han folklores in Shandong Province. According to legend, the history of the theocratic power of Mount Tai God in charge of life and death can be traced back to the pre-Qin period. According to Gu Yanwu's "Archaeological Records", there have been legends of immortals in Mount Tai since the weekend. After the emergence of yin-yang theory and five-element theory in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Mount Tai became the place where yin and yang alternated and all things developed.

In the Eastern Han Dynasty, due to the emergence of Taoism, the theory of "Mount Tai to cure ghosts" appeared in society. The god of Mount Tai took charge of the power of life and death in the world. The altar where ancient emperors descended to Zen suddenly became the King of Hell. temple. Yan Shigu, a scholar of the Tang Dynasty, commented on the sentence "Shangqin Zen Gaoli" in the "Hanshu": "The word 'Gao' should mean Gaoxiagao, the place where two dead people are; Gaoli Mountain is at the foot of Mount Tai, which is the place of ghosts." The land of soul. "Qian Bao's "Sou Shen Ji" and Zhang Hua's "Nu Wu Zhi" of the Jin Dynasty both said that Mount Tai controls life and death. There are many stories in the books about people who dreamed of being an official in the underworld and Mount Tai came true. Jin Luji's "Taishan Ode" eulogized: "How high is Mount Tai? It is so far away that it creates the heaven. It is extremely high and far away, and the layers of clouds are dark and dark. Liang's father also has a pavilion, and there is also a pavilion in the grass. The secluded cens are surrounded by thousands of ghosts, and the divine room is Ji Bailing sings loudly on the side of Taishan Mountain.

"

In "The Romance of the Gods" compiled by Xu Zhonglin of the Ming Dynasty, Jiang Ziya appointed Huang Feihu, a general of the Zhou Dynasty, as the Dongyue Emperor: in charge of the 18 levels of hell in the underworld, transforming people into gods and ghosts according to life and death. , all will be surveyed from Dongyue, and then implemented.
