What does it mean that the injector circuit is open?
The spray characteristics of fuel injector include atomization particle size, oil mist distribution, oil beam direction, range and diffusion cone angle. These characteristics should meet the requirements of diesel engine combustion system, make the mixture formation and combustion perfect, and obtain higher power and thermal efficiency.
Extended data
principle of operation
The fuel injection system of diesel engine atomizes fuel and distributes it to the part of the combustion chamber mixed with air.
It is mainly composed of injector and injector body, and its installation position and angle on cylinder head depend on the design of combustion chamber.
Fuel injectors are divided into open and closed types. Open injector is rarely used because of its simple structure but poor atomization. Closed injector is widely used in various diesel engines. Diesel engines inhale pure air in the intake stroke.
Due to the high compression ratio of diesel engine (generally 16-22), the in-cylinder air pressure can reach 3.5-4.5MPa and the temperature can reach 750- 1000K at the end of compression (while the mixed gas pressure of gasoline engine will be 0.6- 1.2MPa and the temperature will reach 600-700K). Therefore, after diesel oil is injected into the cylinder, it will spontaneously combust immediately after being mixed with air in a short time.
