Does the battery charging of a car affect the engine?
(1) leads to unstable engine idle speed. For an engine equipped with an idle speed control valve, if the battery loses power in the closed-loop control state, the idle speed will deviate from the set value, making the engine idle unstable. This is because the idle learning value of engine ECU is easy to be lost when the battery voltage is too low. At this time, it is necessary to match the throttle assembly with the engine ECU, which is more troublesome to operate.
(2) Reduce the actual fuel injection. Due to the influence of the mechanical inertia of the needle valve of the injector, the hysteresis of the electromagnetic coil and the efficiency of the magnetic circuit, any injector needs a "valve opening time" from applying an electric pulse to the electromagnetic coil to opening the needle valve, which is an invalid time for not injecting oil, and the length of this time is affected by the current flowing through the electromagnetic coil of the injector. Therefore, the actual opening time of the needle valve of the fuel injector is later than the time when the ECU controls the fuel injector to be electrified, which means that the opening time of the needle valve is shorter than the time calculated by the ECU, resulting in insufficient fuel injection. The lower the battery voltage, the longer the lag time, and the greater the impact on fuel injection.
(3) weaken the ignition energy. This is because the lower the power supply voltage, the longer the energy storage time of the ignition coil and the shorter the ignition off time.
(4) electronic anti-theft system failure. The phenomenon is that the remote controller sends out an anti-theft signal, the car does not respond normally, the door cannot be opened, and the car cannot be started. This phenomenon often occurs in winter morning, which is caused by the battery capacity not reaching the starting voltage of the electronic anti-theft system receiver at low temperature.
(5) The sound system is locked. For example, BMW's electronic audio system has anti-theft function. If the audio power supply voltage is lower than 5V, the audio system will be locked and the words "anti-theft" will appear on the display screen. When the power supply voltage returns to normal, if you want to turn on the audio system again, it will not start.
(6) The automatic transmission cannot enter the overdrive gear, or the P gear locking function cannot be released. In addition, the ABS system will not enter the working state, and the cruise control system will not work normally.
(7) Causing ECU control confusion.
In a word, the influence of battery loss on the performance and detection of electronically controlled vehicles is all-round and hidden. If there is something wrong with the car, ask the car master. 4S shop professional technician, 10 minutes to solve.
