Characteristics of Hanzhong-Chenggu section of Hanjiang River
Hanzhong is located in the southwest of Shaanxi Province, in the western section of Qinba Mountain, with Qinling Mountains in the north and Micang Mountain in the south (that is, the western section of Dabashan Mountain). It is an underdeveloped area with low fiscal revenue and insufficient infrastructure construction for ecological environment protection.
At the same time, as an important water conservation area of the middle route project of South-to-North Water Transfer and the water transfer project in Shaanxi Province, the environmental access threshold is high, the task of environmental risk prevention is arduous, and the pressure of promoting ecological environmental protection and economic development is great. Protecting the stable and excellent water quality of Hanjiang River (Hanzhong section) is facing severe challenges.
Mainly in the following aspects:
(A) the water ecological environment protection infrastructure has a lot of historical debts and great protection pressure. Hanzhong, as an underdeveloped area, has very limited financial resources, large debts of urban and rural infrastructure, large quantities of pipe network reconstruction in shanty towns in the old city, relatively backward reconstruction of urban rain sewage distribution pipe network and construction of domestic sewage collection pipe network in towns along the Yangtze River, and high cost of later operation guarantee of sewage treatment facilities.
(2) The task of preventing water ecological environment risks is arduous. National highways 3 16, 108, 244 and 345 are the main routes for transporting dangerous chemicals vehicles in southwest and northwest China, with a total length of 465.4 kilometers, low road grade, and most areas are surrounded by mountains and waters, with steep slopes and large traffic volume, which makes it extremely difficult to prevent and control water ecological environment risks.
(3) There is great pressure to jointly promote ecological environmental protection and economic development. In order to protect a clear water from going northward permanently, the assessment of surface water quality in Hanzhong City is stricter than other similar cities, which raises the threshold of environmental access, increases the difficulty of industrial development and natural resources development and utilization, and the task of water ecological environment protection is arduous and arduous. At the same time, the water ecological environment resources are abundant, but it needs to be further innovated and broadened to transform the ecological environment advantages into development advantages.

The Hanjiang River, also known as Hanshui River and Hanjiang River, is the largest tributary of the Yangtze River. Modern hydrology believes that there are three sources: Shui Yang in the Central Plains, Qushui in Beiyuan and Daiyu River in Nanyuan, all of which are located in ningqiang county, Shaanxi Province at the southern foot of Qinling Mountains. When it flows through Mianxian (now Mianxian) and flows eastward to Hanzhong, it is called Hanshui River. The section from Ankang to Danjiangkou was called Canglang Water in ancient times, and Xiangyang was nicknamed Xiangjiang River, Xiangshui River and Xianghe River below.
