Who founded Hongmen?
The founder of Hongmen is Chen Jinnan.
Chen Yonghua (Chen Jinnan), an advocate of Taiwanese education, also named Fufu, was born in Shimei, Jiaomei Town, Taiwanese Investment Zone, Zhangzhou, Fujian. Chen Yonghua's father's name is Chen Ding. Chen Ding passed the imperial examination in 1627, the seventh year of Tianqi's reign in the Ming Dynasty, and became a Jinshi in 1644. After the Jiashen Incident, he returned to his hometown to work in farming. In the second year of Yongli (1648), Zheng Chenggong conquered Tong'an and granted Chen Ding his teaching post.
The Qing army captured Tong'an, and Chen Ding hanged himself in Minglun Hall. Chen Yonghua was fifteen or sixteen years old at the time and was a doctoral student. After the Qing army entered the city, Chen Yonghua fled. At that time, Zheng Chenggong occupied Xiamen and planned to restore the Ming Dynasty, so he recruited scholars from all over the world.
Wang Zhongxiao, the Minister of War, recommended Chen Yonghua. Zheng Chenggong discussed current affairs with him, and finally said happily: "Fufu, you are today's Mr. Wolong." Later, he was granted the opportunity to join the army and treated with courtesy. However, according to research, Chen Yonghua is not good at talking at ordinary times, and can only be used when talking about some political opinions and other political aspects.

In the twelfth year of Yongli (1658), Zheng Chenggong discussed the Northern Expedition with the generals. Many people thought it was not feasible. , only Chen Jinnan argued against all opinions and believed it was feasible. Zheng Chenggong was very happy, so he sent him to stay in Xiamen and assist his son Zheng Jing.
In 1665, Chen Jinnan proposed to Zheng Jing the suggestion of "building a holy temple and establishing a school." However, Zheng Jing believed: "The new creation in the wasteland is not only a cramped place, but also a sparse population. We have to wait for the future." Chen Jinnan cited classics and emphasized the importance of education.
In the first month of the spring of 1666, the holy temple was built and Minglun Hall was built next to it. In March, another college was built, with Chen Jinnan as the presiding officer, and Ye Heng, the etiquette officer, was hired as Guozi's assistant. When the school was first built, it was in urgent need of a large number of educational talents. Chen Jinnan recruited mainland intellectuals to cross Taiwan through various channels.
