The origin of bird's nest?
The bird's nest is a kind of bird called "Jin Siyan". It uses moss, seaweed and soft plants to mix their feathers and saliva, and cement the bird's nest as a hiding place. People take this bird's nest down, and after refining and selecting it, it becomes a valuable bird's nest.
Jin Siyan nests three times a year, and the first nest is thick and white. Because Jin Siyan has a long winter, a long rest time, enough nutrients are stored in the body, and the quality of saliva is better, so the nest built is better and thicker, shaped like a lamp, hence the name Zhan Yan, which is the best in bird's nest.
There is a kind of bird's nest called "Blood Swallow", which is built by a kind of "Brown-tailed Jin Siyan". This swallow may drink different water quality, or it may be because of minerals and other factors, its saliva is red, so it has built a "blood swallow" nest.
Main producing areas of bird's nest:
The main origin of bird's nest is from the Philippines in the east to the desert island caves near the coast of Myanmar in the west, with Indonesia, Malaysia, Sandakan, Singapore, Thailand and the South China Sea islands as the majority. Among them, Indonesia has the best bird's nest quality and the largest bird's nest output, followed by Malaysia, because the weather and environment are most suitable for swallows to live together.
According to statistics, by the end of 20 10, Indonesia's bird's nest accounted for 85%-90% of the global bird's nest production, Malaysia accounted for 5%- 10%, Thailand 3%, Vietnam, the Philippines and other places about 2% (refer to the data of Hong Kong Trade Department for several years). A subspecies of Jin Siyan in Java, namely cfuciphagemmani, was once collected in Yannan Island and can be used to make edible bird's nest.
