Brief introduction of Pudong mosque

Located at Wujiating 16, Pudong Avenue. Founded in 1935, it was funded and presided over by the Imam Hong Changjin from Shandong and Muslims from Henan. The temple rented a floor in Lujiazui area as a temporary place of worship for more than a year. Later, under the guidance of Hade Chengda Imam, Hong Chang went to other places (some people say to Hong Kong) to raise money to build temples. After the completion of the temple, the first imam was Hong Changjin, and few people usually attend special schools.

After 1944, it was taken over by Shanghai Hui Church Council, and it was officially taken over after liberation. This temple covers an area of about 4 acres. The temple gate faces north, with an open-air courtyard and a worship hall in the west, which can accommodate nearly 100 people to worship at the same time. There is a row of bungalows on the south side, including the dean's office, water room and office. Imams Ding Yuyan and Ma Housi preached in the temple successively, and stopped their religious activities after the Cultural Revolution in 1966. 1984 implement the religious policy and resume religious activities.
