Liushahe said Zhuangzi (note)
This man lived 2300 years ago, and people called him Zhuangzi. Sons are also called men. Zhuangzi, this is an honorific title, that is, Mr. Zhuang. When Mr. Zhuang was alive, his resume was not obvious, his reputation was not obvious, and his life was rather boring, so few people knew him except a few disciples with him. Two hundred years after his death, Sima Qian wrote biographies of Lao Zi in Historical Records, and added his own biographies to Lao Zi's biographies by the way. The appendix biography is of course short, with only 235 words. Although there are not many words, it is hard for Sima Qian. You know, when Sima Qian collected information about Zhuangzi, Zhuangzi had been dead for two hundred years. In the past 200 years, after the Qin Dynasty burned books to bury Confucianism, the Chu and Han Dynasties killed each other, and the Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty's "ousting a hundred schools of thought and respecting Confucianism alone", the historical materials of the pre-Qin Dynasty were scattered, so how difficult it was to collect.
