Wenzhou City is a prefecture-level city in Zhejiang Province and a coastal port city. It is located in the middle section of China's golden coastline, in the southeast of Zhejiang Province, bordering the East China Sea to the east, Ningde Fuding City, Fujian Province to the south, and Lishui City to the west. Adjacent to Taizhou City in the north, it is one of the first 14 coastal cities in my country to be opened to the outside world. It is a prefecture-level city in Zhejiang Province and the economic and cultural center of southern Zhejiang. In 2008, the city's GDP reached 242.43 billion yuan, an increase of 8.5% over the previous year. The per capita GDP exceeded 4,500 US dollars, and the total fiscal revenue was 33.98 billion yuan.

Wenzhou has a mid-subtropical monsoon climate. In winter, northerly winds blowing from the mainland prevail, resulting in lower temperatures, less rain, and less evaporation of humidity. In summer, southerly winds blowing from the ocean prevail, causing heavy rain and high temperatures. The weather in spring is changeable and often rainy. Wenzhou is famous for its developed handicraft industry in history and is one of the birthplaces of celadon. Papermaking, shipbuilding, silk, embroidery, lacquerware, shoe leather, etc. all play a certain role in the history of our country. It was established as a trading port during the Southern Song Dynasty and was known as "a prosperous sea, always called Little Hangzhou". Wenzhou is the hometown of Southern Opera. In the mid-14th century, the famous Wenzhou playwright Gao Ming's "Pipa Ji" was translated into many languages ​​and spread widely around the world. Southern Fujian culture comes from the Putian people who immigrated from southern Fujian during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Putian people brought rich business capabilities and culture, which deeply promoted the formation of Wenzhou's business culture.

Wenzhou has produced numerous talents throughout the ages and has made outstanding achievements in academics, literature, art, and science and technology. During the Southern Song Dynasty, the "Yongjia School" represented by Ye Shi was formed academically, which had a high status and far-reaching influence in the academic history of our country. In terms of literature, the "Yongjia Four Spirits" poetry school appeared in the poetry world; in opera, the folk drama form of "Southern Opera" was pioneered. During the Xiyou period of the Southern Song Dynasty, the medical scientist Chen Yuanze founded the Yongjia School of Medicine based on the theory of "Three Causes of Prescription"; there were also many outstanding talents in the Song Dynasty and the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, such as Huang Gongwang, Liu Ji, Sun Yirang, etc.
