What can't Tomb-Sweeping Day do?
Tomb-Sweeping Day is one of the 24 solar terms and a traditional festival in China, so there are many taboos in Tomb-Sweeping Day. Such as Qingming taboo windy, rainy and cloudy. People think it is sunny and windy, and it is early; Rain will be harmful to wheat. According to legend, clarity is a sign of famine.
In northern Shanxi, women are forbidden to go to the grave, and only men have the right to go to the grave. After going to the grave, when you get home, you should cut the leftover hungry paper money into the shape of a door and stick it on it. In Linyi area, it is forbidden for women to return to their parents' homes in Tomb-Sweeping Day, or their father-in-law will die. In some places, on the contrary, Tomb-Sweeping Day, the new daughter-in-law who has just passed the door, must go back to her family. According to legend, if you don't go back to your mother's house, your mother-in-law will die. In Jimo, Shandong, there is a custom for young women to hide from Qingming. It is said that on this day, an evil spirit will come down to catch a beautiful girl.
The Han nationality has the custom of crossing willows and inserting willows in Qingming. It is taboo for Tomb-Sweeping Day not to wear willow. There are many sayings in this respect, such as: "If you don't wear willow in Qingming Festival, you will become a dog when you die". "There is no willow in Qingming, and the yellow dog dies"; "Qingming does not wear willow, and when you die, you become a pig and dog"; "Qingming does not bring willows, and beauty becomes a head." Wait a minute. There are also different opinions about the causes of the custom of crossing willow (or talking with willow) and inserting willow in Tomb-Sweeping Day. One said it had something to do with cold food and smoking ban. In other words, it comes from the story and legend that Jin Wengong Zhong Er sacrificed meson and ordered every family to stop smoking. "Yanjing years old" cloud:
"Qingming is a cold food and a no-smoking festival. The ancients were the heaviest, and today people are not festivals, and children wear willows to sweep graves. " Old local chronicles such as Shandong and Henan often say this from now on.
It is said that wearing willow in Qingming Festival is related to ancestor worship, and not wearing willow is not ancestor worship. Therefore, people who don't wear willows are cursed by the world to "become pigs and dogs when they die", saying that they are unfilial and pigs and dogs are inferior, so many people in Hubei Province say so. There is also a saying that the custom of taking willows in Tomb-Sweeping Day is related to Huang Chao's rebellion. Jean Lian's Notes on the Spring and Autumn Period in the Qing Dynasty said: "In the Qingming period, women and children wear wicker, and willow buds will be like mulberry roots, which is called' Liugou'. As the saying goes,' The riverside scene on the Qingming Festival turns yellow after the dog dies', and its meaning is extremely obvious, or:
Qingming without willow, died in the hands of Huang Chao'. When Chao rebelled, he used vitamins to lead a clear life, so there was a proverb. "。 In fact, these statements are not necessarily accurate. In the sense that Tomb-Sweeping Day is also a ghost festival, inserting willows and wearing willows actually have the witchcraft function of exorcising evil spirits and eliminating disasters. Tomb-Sweeping Day's ancestor worship should not only offer sacrifices to ancestors' spirits, but also prevent furtive intrusion.
Tomb-sweeping taboo in Qingming:
1, pregnant women are forbidden to sweep graves. It's better for pregnant women to avoid tomb sweeping activities in Qingming, which is not only the influence of heavy yin. In other respects, Tomb-Sweeping Day is very crowded. For the safety of the fetus, pregnant women are not recommended to participate. Moreover, the weather of sweeping graves and the surrounding environment are not conducive to the health of pregnant women. In addition, if women have official holidays, they should also avoid such activities.
2. Don't take photos in the cemetery. The purpose of sweeping graves is to worship ancestors, not to have fun. There is a god who holds his head three feet high. It is best to be respectful, careful and cautious when sweeping the grave. Never take pictures in the cemetery, or even take pictures at will, otherwise it will attract bad atmosphere, cause imbalance between Yin and Yang, and damage personal fortune.
3, avoid wearing big red and purple. Tomb-Sweeping Day can't wear red and purple to visit the grave, and I believe everyone will not wear such clothes to attend such activities. However, some people will be careless and inadvertently use red in clothes or underwear. Of course, the animal year is an exception, and underwear can be worn in red.
4. Outsiders should not participate in other people's grave sweeping. It is taboo for people outside Tomb-Sweeping Day to participate in grave-sweeping, and it is easy to cause unnecessary trouble. After all, it is not a family, and different blessings may cause disorder in the gas field, leading to disharmony and bad luck.
The grass in the grave must be trimmed. Plants that grow on graves must be pulled out and never grow into climate. This is the most important thing, but you should know that sweeping the grave is to clean up things that are not conducive to the cemetery. The vegetation on the grave will do harm to the family, including luck and health, which is greatly unfavorable.
6. Do not cover your forehead and avoid buying shoes. In fact, Tomb-Sweeping Day is a Halloween, of course, we should pay attention to the hairstyle, especially the hair can't cover the forehead. This is the magic lamp of the human body, and it can't be covered. At the same time, don't buy shoes on the same day, because shoes are the same evil, and most friends with common sense won't buy shoes on this day, so as not to be unlucky.
7. Never frolic and criticize your ancestors. When individuals are sweeping graves, it is not only disrespectful to the deceased, but also attracts criticism. It is blasphemous to go through other people's graves and comment on the dead, which will cause trouble.
