After the Qing Dynasty emperor died, what was the point of being buried in the Dongling and Xiling?
The emperor followed Zhao Mu's system when he was buried. There were particularly strict rules on where Qing emperors should be buried after their death. Generally, these emperors had three tombs. One is the three tombs outside the customs, the other is the Eastern Tomb of Qing Dynasty, and the other is the Western Tomb of Qing Dynasty. As the name suggests, the three tombs outside the customs mean that the Qing Dynasty did not enter the Central Plains before, so Nurhachi and Huang Taiji were buried here. This place should be an auspicious place.
The ancestor who died first is in the middle, then all others are buried or placed around him. For example, the Qing Dynasty Tombs that started in Shunzhi should be buried in the middle. Later, Kangxi should be on his right and Yongzheng should be on his left. Their ordering is also very spiritual. In ancient Feng Shui, they were in the "monopoly" position. Could it be that if they were buried in this order, would their dynasty last for a long time? (Obviously it’s a bit weird.)
The one on the right is Zhao, the one on the left is Mu, and then the emperor follows the analogy of seniority. But after Yongzheng arrived, he chose another piece of land to build his own mausoleum, which led to the Qingxi Mausoleum. However, Yongzheng apparently broke the rules established by his ancestors. It turned out that he planned to bury himself in the Qingdong Tomb. The whole project was very grand, but there was a lot of gravel in the tomb. Therefore, it is actually inappropriate to say that the Eastern Tomb of the Qing Dynasty was actually inappropriate. In the end, Yongzheng had to open the Western Tomb of the Qing Dynasty himself.
Qianlong was worried that his son would not obey his arrangements in the future and chose his future home for him while he was still alive. However, after Emperor Qianlong died, he could not control his grandson. . Since Jiaqing, no emperor has acted according to Qianlong's statement, but they should also have reasons for doing so. After all, the first emperor, Qianlong, was already dead. Is there anything else that can control them, so it is understandable to do such a thing.
