Botou City is located in the southeast of Hebei Province. Nanpi in the east, Wuqiang and Wuyi in the west, Fucheng in the south, xian county in the north, Dongguang across the canal in the southeast and Cangxian in the northeast. Botou City was originally Jiaohe County. The Han Dynasty belongs to Lecheng, Chengping and Chengjian counties. The Eastern Han Dynasty established the province as Pingcheng, and the Sui Dynasty changed Pingcheng to Jingcheng, and Lecheng to Leshou. In the sixth year of Xining in Song Shenzong (A.D. 1073), a provincial scenic city entered Leshou, and Hezhen and Shijiaquan were exchanged. In the seventh year of Jin Dading (A.D. 1 167), Leshou was located in Jiaohe County, and xinqiao town was located in the east of Jiaohe County and on the west bank of the Canal. In the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed Botou Town, and there was a tucheng. Because there is a Xinqiao Post in Hedong, which is close to Nanpi County, in the 19th year of Kangxi (AD 1680), a part of Hedong was placed under Nanpi's jurisdiction. 1946, after the liberation of Botou, the administrative office of Jizhong District decided to separate Botou City from Jiaohe and Nanpi counties and set up Botou City. 1949 10 was changed to county-level town, and 1953 resumed Botou city. 1958 65438+February, Jiaohe, Nanpi, Dongguang, Fucheng and Botou merged into Jiaohe County. 196 1 year later, the county organizational system was gradually restored. 1May, 962, Botou was changed to Jiaohe County. 1982 65438+In February, the State Council decided to resume the construction of Botou City. 1983 In May, Jiaohe County was revoked and its jurisdiction was merged into Botou City.

Before the Qing Dynasty, the Yellow River, Zhanghe River, Hutuo River and other rivers flowed through the urban area many times, leaving criss-crossing old rivers and abundant groundwater resources.
