Will Luoyang rise in the future and become the provincial capital?
1. The terrain of Luoyang Basin hinders large-scale development in urban areas
A high-voted respondent on the topographic map has already let it go. The terrain of Luoyang has a proper name. It is called the Luoyang Basin and is surrounded by mountains on three sides. The Luo River passes through the city (the Feng Shui is really good when you look at it this way). This has greatly restricted the development scale of the city. The traditional development area north of the Luo River has almost expanded. It didn't move anymore, it was such a big place and it was packed to the brim. It is a bit difficult to expand to Song County, Luanchuan and Xin'an counties, all of which are mountainous areas (the scenery in the scenic area is really great). There is Geely District to the north, but Geely is separated by the Yellow River and Mang Mountain, which makes it a bit difficult. Then there are Luoyang New District south of the Luo River and Yibin New District in the southeast. They can be regarded as satellite cities, but the development south of the Luo River always feels a little lack of motivation.
In a word, the traditional development area of Luoyang is already so full that it is difficult to have any major expansion. However, the developable satellite city has made the city divisible due to the division of Mangshan, Luoshui and even the Yellow River. Expansion and development are a bit overwhelming. This situation is similar to the development of Luodu in ancient times. I wonder if it can be explained by "since ancient times"? Please give me some advice.
2. The distribution of cultural relics in the main urban area limits the large-scale development of Luoyang
Some of the above respondents cited the example of Xi'an on this issue, and I also have some thoughts of my own. Although I don’t know much about Xi’an, I still know a little about the distribution of monuments in Luoyang. There are indeed many cultural relics and historic sites in Luoyang distributed in the urban area. To cite a bunch of chestnuts, there are six in the urban area of Luoyang. In addition to Geely District, in the ancient city protection plan of Luoyang City, under Xigong and Jianxi District is the ancient city of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty. At the same time, the foot of Xigong District is the most important ancient city of Sui and Tang Dynasties. As for the palace city, the old city is the ancient city of Jin and Yuan Dynasties (the current regional structure is almost the same as it was 800 years ago), Luolong District is the Lifang District in the Sui and Tang Dynasty ancient cities, and there is also a large-scale Han and Wei Dynasty Museum one kilometer east of Luoyang City. The ancient city is being excavated, let alone Yanshi. I went to the Luoyang Municipal Museum many times, and once I observed the place where each cultural relic was found, including big hotels, schools, brewery expansions, building constructions, etc. There were many projects, which were quite interesting to look at.
In a word, although Xi'an also has many underground cultural relics, Luoyang may have its own special market conditions in terms of distribution. Compared with other cities, more historical sites may be distributed in the urban area and development of Luoyang. Under the better areas, further large-scale engineering construction in these areas is restricted.
However, as a Luoyang native, I am quite sad about some of Zhengzhou’s practices. The Dengfeng Shaolin Temple used to belong to Luoyang, but was later excavated by Zhengzhou, and there were several large projects. Anyway, the first few The mayor of Luoyang made a great contribution to Luoyang in 2011. He built the entire Luolong District with his own hands.
Luoyang’s road transportation has developed well in recent years. The Luoyang New District high-speed railway and the fast lanes from Luoyang to various counties have been gradually built. Tunnels have been dug and overpasses have been built on various roads in the new district. Luoyang Metro is under construction in the city. Here I hope Luoyang will develop better and better in the future
