Worse than the Southern Song Dynasty! The present situation of imperial tombs in Liao and Jin Dynasties can be visited for free.
Ordinary scholars are reluctant to mention the dynasties established by the Liao Dynasty and the Jin Dynasty.
However, Dongyi, Beidi, Xirong and South Vietnam have always been a part of China's history, which cannot be avoided. It is also a fact that the rulers of the two dynasties have been sinicized.
so, what is the situation of the imperial tombs in Liao and Jin dynasties? Can we go sightseeing?
this article will give you a detailed answer.
the Liao dynasty was founded by the qidan nationality, passed on to nine emperors and enjoyed the country for 218 years.
as for the small imperial courts of northern Liao, western Liao, eastern Liao and post-Liao, which were established after the demise of the Liao dynasty, there is no pen and ink here.
If you remember how the Jin Dynasty treated Song Ling in Gongyi after destroying the Northern Song Dynasty, it is not hard to imagine that the Jin Dynasty will definitely destroy the tombs of the Liao Dynasty.
so it is.
the land of Longxing in the Liao dynasty is now the Liaohe river basin in Liaoning province. Mausoleums of emperors in Liao Dynasty are mostly located in this area. After the Jin Dynasty occupied this place, it destroyed the ancestral temples and tombs of the Liao Dynasty.
Since then, the Jin Dynasty, Mongolia and Yuan Dynasty have all been doing the same thing: destroying the culture of the Khitan people by means of destroying cultural remains, population migration and changing place names. After a long "effort", the Khitan nationality was assimilated into Han, Jurchen, Mongolia, Korea and other ethnic groups, and finally disappeared.
In this process, some adherents of the Khitan Dynasty arranged and buried the Mausoleum of the Liao Dynasty. Objectively speaking, this activity also destroyed the imperial tombs of the Liao Dynasty.
Now, it is very difficult to find out where the tombs of Liao emperors are.
at the foot of yiwulu mountain in beizhen city, Jinzhou city, Liaoning province, there is a group of emperors' tombs in Liao dynasty. In this mausoleum group, people found the tombs of Yelv Zongzheng and Yelv Zongyun (two nephews of Liao Shengzong), as well as some tombs of Liao nobles whose owners were uncertain.
These two tombs should be buried with Yeluxian of Liao Jingzong and Ganling of Xiao Taihou, but at present, the tombs of the emperor and empress have not been confirmed.
Although the imperial tomb has not been found, it does not prevent this place from being called "Liao Dynasty Imperial Tomb Scenic Area", and tourists often visit here. Of the four tombs that have been discovered, the tomb of Yelu Zongzheng is open to tourists, but the others have been backfilled.
the imperial tombs in the Jin dynasty were also quite messy.
Some emperors were demoted after their death (King Hailing and King Wei Shao), and there were no imperial tombs. Some people are not emperors, but their children and grandchildren were made emperors after they became emperors. Instead, they have imperial tombs.
I won't go into details about the number of imperial tombs in the Jin Dynasty. Anyway, I haven't found many yet.
Jinling site is located at the foot of Yunfeng Mountain in Dachang Village, Dafangshan District, Beijing. There are 17 emperors from the ancestor of Jin Dynasty to Jin Zhangzong, as well as some empresses and imperial families.
This is the first imperial tomb in Beijing. Except that Jin Xuanzong was buried in Kaifeng, Henan Province, and Jin Aizong was dismembered after his death, all the other Jin emperors were buried here.
The mausoleum area was laid by Wan Yanliang, the king of Hailing, but ironically he didn't have a mausoleum himself.
He moved the capital of the Jin Dynasty to Beijing, and then built three tombs on the old site of Yunfeng Temple to bury the three emperors before him. The following year, he moved ten ancestral coffins from the Jin Dynasty before the founding of the People's Republic of China, each with its own title. The purpose of relocation and burial is to consolidate Beijing's status as the capital and block the opponents' mouths.
So, the early Jin emperors were not buried here. Take Taizu Akuta as an example. It was originally buried in Shangjing (now the southeast suburb of Balinzuoqi, Inner Mongolia) and was later reburied in Jinling, Beijing.
Because so many imperial tombs were built in a hurry, none of them will be large in scale. This laid the groundwork for the loss of the imperial tomb later.
Jinling has a lot of fate. After the demise of the Jin Dynasty, the ground buildings in Jinling were destroyed in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties.
The biggest destruction was done by the Emperor Apocalypse of the Ming Dynasty (that is, the excellent carpenter). After the late Jin Dynasty rose up, the Ming army suffered repeated battles and defeats. The Apocalypse Emperor was furious and was puzzled by the words of some geomantic magicians. So he sent a large number of troops to destroy all the buildings in Jinling, cut off the Long Mai in the mountain, and built the Guandi Temple to town. In addition, he built a Niu Hao Tower on the tomb of Jin Wushu.
after the establishment of the Qing dynasty, Taizu Ruiling and Sejong Xingling in Jinling were rebuilt. The reason why only these two tombs were built is that other imperial tombs have been buried in weeds and cannot be confirmed.
But it didn't last long. During the late Qing Dynasty and the Cultural Revolution, Jinling was destroyed again.
nowadays, most of the buildings and stone tablets built in the Qing dynasty have disappeared. The enclosure of Xingling has also been leveled off, and the enclosure of Ruiling has also been seriously damaged, leaving only a part.
In 1986, the cultural relics department made a survey of Jinling and found the Jingling of Jin Ruizong.
Now Jinling is a national key cultural relic protection unit.
there is no charge for this scenic spot. Now, when you visit Jinling, you can see the enclosed land of Ruiling, some architectural relics, archway doors (modern construction) and other scenery.
I'm only a little knowledgeable. If you have your own opinions, please add them in the comments.
