What is the highest mountain in Shenzhen?
The highest peak in Shenzhen is called "Wutong Mountain".
Wutong Mountain is located in the eastern part of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, spanning Luohu and Yantian districts, and includes parts of East Lake Park, Xianhu Botanical Garden and Shatoujiao Forest Farm. Wutong Mountain gradually rises from southwest to northeast. Wutong Mountain is a remnant of Lianhua Mountain. It is an urban and suburban natural scenic area with mountains and natural vegetation as the main landscape. On its main ridge line, there are three main peaks (elevations of 692 meters, 706 meters, and 944 meters respectively). The highest peak is 944 meters above sea level, making it the highest peak in Shenzhen. The vegetation in the mountains is good and is a typical south subtropical evergreen broad-leaved mixed forest.
Wutong Mountain has historically been one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Xin'an" and has rich cultural landscapes. Qiao Shun, a poet of the Qing Dynasty, said in a poem: "Wutong Mountain, high against the sky, is covered with frost and snow in winter, and cloudy and smokey after the rain... I want to cut the sycamore trees and make a musical instrument to offer to Mu Qing. I sit down to play Nanxun and sing for peace, and I want to attract the phoenix." ..." Wutong Peak faces Hong Kong's Smoky Mountains (958 meters above sea level) to the south, overlooks Shenzhen city to the west, and overlooks the vast sea of Dapeng Bay and Dapeng Peninsula to the southeast.
