During Xiaoman Festival, tourists pass by the Shahu Park Chinese Lotus Variety Base next to Shahu Avenue I was pleasantly surprised to find that lotus flowers were blooming in the garden, and they were dotted in red or white among the green leaves in the fields, swaying in the wind, looking pretty and charming.

The weather in late spring and early summer this year is changeable, with frequent rains and cooling, which is not conducive to the growth of lotus flowers that prefer sun to shade. In March and April this year, the temperature was relatively high, breaking through the 30°C mark several times. Therefore, many lotus flowers budded early. With careful maintenance, the Chinese lotus variety base in Shahu Park was full of summer lotus flowers.

The exact time for the lotuses to bloom in Shahu Park this summer is May 6, and the variety is "Snowfield Green", which is nearly half a month earlier than last year's first lotus "Auspicious Snow Reflecting Spring". If the weather conditions in Wuhan continue to warm up, with sufficient sunlight and suitable temperatures, in about half a month, many varieties of lotus, such as "Master" and "Dongxihu Red Lotus", will also be in full bloom.

This Wuhan Lotus Festival will use Shahu Park as the main venue, and a new 7,200-square-meter lotus garden will be officially opened to welcome guests on the first day of the Lotus Festival.

In addition, there are five branch venues including Wuhan Botanical Garden, Yuehu Park, Tanghu Park, Xiaonan Lake Park, and Jiangxia Fasi, a cloud venue in the Garden Science Park, and a literary and artistic lotus appreciation spot in Qintai Concert Hall. There are many special lotus viewing spots.
