What causes gingivitis?

Gingivitis is mostly due to unclean mouth, and calculus (tartar) accumulates on the surface of teeth, which often stimulates gums, and bacteria are easy to breed, leading to gingival inflammation. The causes of gingivitis can be caused by irregular tooth arrangement, food stuck in teeth, poor compression of dentures and irritation to gums.

Generally, it is not very painful when the gums are inflamed, but it is easy to bleed when brushing teeth or eating hard objects to stimulate the gums. The gums with gingivitis appear red and swollen, and the surface loses its tough and smooth appearance. The scope of inflammation is mainly confined to the gums, and there is no destruction of alveolar bone, so the teeth are not loose. When the gums are squeezed, there is no pus flowing out of the gingival space, and sometimes spontaneous bleeding may occur.

Gingival bleeding caused by simple gingivitis can be cured as long as you pay attention to oral hygiene, brush your teeth and rinse your mouth frequently, and remove the stimulation of calculus and bad denture inlay. If there are gingivitis caused by other systemic diseases, such as anemia, leukemia and vitamin C deficiency, these diseases must be properly treated to effectively cure gingivitis. If gingival hyperplasia is accompanied by inflammation, if it is caused by local reasons, surgical treatment should be taken to remove the gingival hyperplasia.
