According to the survey, the natural vegetation distributed in Wutong Mountain includes 1,376 species of vascular plants in 233 families, 764 genera, among which there are rare and endangered species such as A. spinosa, Firth cypress, White osmanthus, Aquilaria agaricus, Agarwood, etc. The wild animal resources are very rich, including 24 orders, 64 families, 196 species. There are nationally protected wild animals such as pythons, kites, red-bellied eagles, brown-winged cuckoos, pangolins, small civets, etc. The East Lake Park Scenic Area integrates viewing, sightseeing, cultural entertainment, and recreational services. It is the first municipal comprehensive park after the founding of the city, witnessing the development of the special zone's gardening industry; the Fairy Lake Botanical Garden Scenic Area is an important place for the scientific research of ornamental plants in China. The base integrates plant collection, research, popularization of scientific knowledge, tourism and leisure. It is a famous landscape botanical garden at home and abroad and is also a recreational area.
Wutong Mountain is the birthplace of Shenzhen River. Wutong Mountain is high in the mountains and densely forested. The main peak of the mountain spring flows into Tianchi. Looking from afar, you can overlook Shenzhen city to the west, facing the Great Smoky Mountains of Hong Kong (958 meters above sea level) to the south, and looking to the southeast, you can have a panoramic view of the vast sea of Dapeng Bay and the beautiful Dapeng Peninsula.
