Geographical distribution of Lishui dialect

As shown in the distribution map, most of Tangzhe Town, Dongping Town and Yongyang Town in the north of Lishui belong to Nanjing Mandarin District. The south of Yongyang Town, a small part of Dongping Town, Shiqiu Town, Baima Town, Honglan Town, Jingqiao Town and Hefeng Town all belong to Wuyu District. The original * * * township in the north of Baima Town is dominated by Zhongyuan dialect, and other towns and villages are also scattered, especially in the east of Lishui. Among them, Wu dialect combines the characteristics of Piling dialect and Xuanwu dialect in Taihu Lake, which is different from the typical Taihu Wu dialect. Jingqiao Town and Baima Town in the southeast belong to the typical Piling Wu dialect, Hefeng Town dialect in the south is similar to Gaochun dialect, Shiqiu Town is close to Xuanwu dialect, and Honglan Town and Yongyang Town in the middle of Lishui are typical Lishui dialects of Wu dialect, which blend the characteristics of Wu dialect everywhere.

Here, I want to mention Yongyang Town, which is an urban area in Lishui District. After liberation, Nanjing Mandarin was the main language. In recent years, due to the influx of southern township residents into the county seat, the number of people who speak Mandarin and Wu is basically the same, and there is no obstacle to communication. Residents of both sides also live in different places, and there is no obvious geographical boundary. Therefore, the county basically belongs to the mixed area of Wu and Huai.
