Comprehensive list of cat breeds

There are many varieties of cats, which are distinguished by body type, hair length, or other criteria.

If cats are divided according to the length of their hair, there are long-haired cats, short-haired cats and hairless cats. Common long-haired cats include Maine Coon cats, Shandong lion cats, Ragdoll cats, etc. Common short-hair cats include British short-hair cats, American short-hair cats, Chinese civet cats, exotic short-hair cats, etc. The most common hairless cats are Sphynx cats.

If divided according to the size of cats, there are small cats, medium-sized cats and large cats. Common small cats include fold-eared cats, Singapore cats, Himalayan cats, and Isle of Man tailless cats.

Common medium-sized cats include Chinese garden cats, American curly cats, German curly cats, Angora cats, bobtail cats, Persian cats, Siamese cats, etc. There are relatively few large cats, mainly Siberian cats, Ragdoll cats, Ashlar cats, tropical native cats and Maine Coon cats.
