A brief introduction to the origin of Jinan’s Lashan River
Lashan River is an important river in the west of Jinan City, Shandong Province. The original name of Lashan was Lashan. According to legend, a long time ago, a sacred cow pulled a mountain to reclaim land from the sea without knowing the god's will. Walking and walking, when we came to the west bank of Dongping Lake, this sacred cow stopped here to rest, maybe because the vast Dongping Lake is the sea, or maybe it took a fancy to this Feng Shui treasure land. When I woke up, it was already five o'clock in the morning. I turned around and looked back. I saw that the mountain I was pulling was as heavy as Mount Tai. How could any divine power be able to pull it? I was so amazed that I just lay down here and didn't move. The cows formed Wo Niu Mountain, and the mountain they were pulling was named La Mountain. Later, because the Eight Immortals crossed the sea and rested here, Bixia Yuanjun built a palace here, which was also called Juxian Mountain. In the Yuan Dynasty, Qiu Chuji practiced here, making Lashan an important Taoist resort. Qiu Chuji led his disciples to hold a Zen ceremony in the twelfth lunar month. During the celebration, Lashan was renamed Lashan. As a reminder to future disciples, don’t forget to hold the Zen ceremony every twelfth lunar month. In the fiftieth year of Kangxi's reign, Lashan Mountain was named "Xiaodai Peak" by the Qing Emperor because of its beautiful natural and cultural landscapes and its reputation for being strange, dangerous and quiet. That is to say, Lashan Mountain can be compared with Mount Tai, hence the reputation of Lashan Mountain as "Xiaodai Peak".
