Wuhan and Chongqing are similar geomantic treasures. Chongqing has taken off, but why has Wuhan not built it yet?
The two cities of Wuhan and Chongqing are very similar in geographical layout. The Yangtze River passes through the centers of the two cities. What is even more similar is that both cities are located at the intersection of the two rivers. Wuhan is divided into three parts by the Yangtze River and the Han River, the largest tributary of the Yangtze River, while Chongqing is also divided into three parts by the Yangtze River and the Jialing River. The intersection of the two cities in Chongqing is the famous Chaotianmen. In contrast, Chaotianmen in Chongqing is well-known, but Nan'anzui in Wuhan is unknown. Why? Nan'anzui is an extraordinary place in Chinese geography and is known as the first corner of China.
Nan'an Zui is where China's Dantian is located, implying that this is the place where China's economy is most concentrated. Nan'an Zui extends from the foot of Guishan Mountain and is connected to Hankou by Qinchuan Bridge. It is the heart of the entire Wuhan. It stands to reason that such a Feng Shui treasure land in the city center should be developed into a city business card like Shanghai Pudong. However, in reality, Nan'anzui is a park green space without a single large building. It is the only piece of land in the bustling city center of Wuhan that remains original and undeveloped. Here, the willow trees are shady in spring and the maple leaves are like fire in autumn. They complement each other with Guishan TV Tower, Qingchuan Hotel and Qinchuan Bridge, forming a beautiful picture. In fact, it is not that Wuhan has never thought about developing Nan'anzui. In 2000, Wuhan made a major decision to relocate thousands of residents of Nan'anzui in order to build Nan'anzui into a world-class international scenic spot. However, it has not been realized until now. .
Chaotianmen is one of the top ten cultural symbols in Chongqing and one of the 17 ancient city gates in Chongqing. During the Southern Song Dynasty, imperial envoys from the Yangtze River passed through the city gate to pass the imperial edict, and the name Chaotianmen came into being. . Chaotianmen is the largest water transport terminal in Chongqing and has been a bustling and lively place since ancient times. With the development of the western region, landmark buildings have been built one after another in Chaotianmen and nearby areas. The area centered on Chaotianmen is undergoing a magnificent change. As early as 2008, the renovation plan for Chaotianmen had been formalized. The proposed budget has reached 10 billion to build Chaotianmen into the central business district of Yuzhong District. With the construction of Raffles City, the skyline of Chaotianmen has risen to a new height, and the quality of the city has been further improved.
Some people say that Chaotianmen is the starting point for the development of the city of Chongqing. Since ancient times, the prosperous urban area of Chongqing has been known as a mountain city. There is not much land available for development, so a geomantic treasure like Chaotianmen is naturally It has become a key development target in Chongqing. Wuhan is located in the east of the Jianghan Plain. In addition to rivers and lakes, there is a large amount of flat land available for development, so the development of Nan'anzui is not that urgent. Local people also have different views on the development here. Some people hope to develop it into a city business card like Chaotianmen or Shanghai Pudong, while others hope to retain an ecological green space like Manhattan's Central Park in the bustling city center, amidst the busy work environment. In addition, you don’t need to go far to enjoy a suburban-like visual experience. Some people also hope to develop Nan'anzui. But I didn't find a very satisfactory planning solution, so I would rather keep the status quo. As the city's large-scale development speed slows down, there is no official specific plan for the development of Nan'an Zui until now. The current and future image of this area in China is still vague. In the future, once developed and constructed, this area will be home to the entire Wuhan people. focus of attention. We will wait and see whether it will become a city landmark like Chaotianmen in the future, or continue to be a scarce Central Park.
