Help: I want to take the 20 13 postgraduate exam in anthropology at Peking University. I have three questions to ask.

Let me talk about my feelings after the anthropology exam this year (2005):

1 Read the Peking University test paper of 0 1 -04 (lack of theoretical test paper of 04). Peking University Anthropology Examination was reduced from three subjects to two subjects, and a comprehensive course examination was cancelled. Therefore, the remaining two exams contain more comprehensive and practical contents. 0 1 There are several extremely easy fill-in-the-blank questions in the Peking University exam. Now that this sub-topic has been cancelled, it also shows that anthropology itself has been paid more and more attention and the examination has become more and more standardized.

Generally speaking, this year's topic is OK, but the biggest change is that seven ethnographic books in the exam of Anthropology Methods were greatly compressed in the exam of Anthropology Theory in the morning, and only one question was scored, 15 (in 2004, it was four ethnographic books). In the method examination held in the afternoon, the theoretical and practical significance of the application of anthropological methods was emphasized, and many knowledge points related to ethnology were added, which may be the first time in the examinations over the years.

It is almost impossible to review some knowledge points in the exam of Peking University. For example, the "Introduction to Brown Single Series" in On is very biased. In previous years, there were such questions, but generally there will only be one.

CUHK and Peking University's exam questions have never been so close. This year, CUHK's "Please discuss the theoretical and practical significance of ethnography in complex and simple societies" and Peking University's "Explain the advantages of overseas ethnography and hometown ethnography from knowledge?" And "What problems did ethnography encounter when it was applied to the study of China?" There are many similarities. The answer to the question "On the practical and theoretical significance of Mr. Fei Xiaotong's concept of pluralism" in ethnology lies in the last two pages of Ma Guoqing's "Into the World of the Other".

Generally speaking, anthropological tests tend to be homogeneous. Peking University not only pays attention to the investigation of foreign anthropological theories, but also pays attention to their application in China society, which is more closely related to ethnology. At the same time, CUHK also began to pay attention to the use of anthropological methods to solve problems such as cultural conflicts and civilized dialogues that are common at home and abroad, and paid more attention to the breadth of theoretical application.

Generally speaking, the examination of anthropology now emphasizes the overall grasp of the subject and the concern for current problems, and pays more attention to a student's knowledge and thinking ability. I'm afraid the days when you can get a horror score by memorizing only one or two books are gone forever.

There are seven ethnographic books to read in Peking University, except Niagara: the drama country of Bali in the 65438+9th century, all of which are relatively easy to find. However, if you want to take a shortcut, you can look at the Summary of Western Anthropology Masterpieces, including five foreign anthropological masterpieces. For example, Niagara: 65438+2009 Bali Drama Country, even if you get the original, it's hard to finish. It's better to read someone else's introduction.

In addition, find a few good dictionaries of traditional anthropology and pick out the terms you think are more important, which is not only useful for explaining nouns, but also useful for making big questions, especially for the exam of "anthropological methods".

Xia Jianzhong's School of Cultural Anthropology Theory must be intensively read, together with the books hired by Huang Shu. In short, only extensive reading on the basis of intensive reading can make it possible to cope with this kind of exam.

In fact, there is not much need to prepare in advance. Half a year is a lot, if you work hard during this period. Finally, I professionally see that my aesthetics are super tired. Now, if you are really interested in this subject, spend more time reading some extracurricular books, especially comprehensive ones. After all, there are not many books available in China.

As for the examination papers, I'm basically from Peking University. The big one is easy to get in the diagram. I still have people in my hand. It depends on which school you are admitted to, in fact, the differences between each school are very big. The examination papers of other schools can only be used for reference, and their functions are limited.

Moreover, as far as I am concerned, the three schools have changed a lot this year, so the most important thing is to master professional knowledge comprehensively and emphatically, and be diligent in thinking, so that you will have no problem in dealing with any anthropology exam.

I posted the interview questions of two girls in our class going to Peking University in Tsinghua, hoping to help everyone.

Peking University Anthropology Interview Questions:

1. Please use an ethnography to talk about your views on the emergence, origin and development of anthropology and anthropological theories and methods.

Please comment on the five ethnographic books you have read.

3. Please talk about your views on this view (LS said he didn't read it, but later changed his answer:)

Please comment on a book by Durkheim.

Tsinghua's interview questions:

1. Please comment on Max Weber's:.

Please talk about the theoretical source and content of structuralist anthropology.

3. Please talk about how to safeguard the rights and interests of migrant workers.

Please talk about the symbolism difference between Turner's view and Geertz's view.

Note: Peking University also asked some questions, such as why anthropology was chosen. Tsinghua of Peking University is divided into written test and interview, and Tsinghua has optional topics. After listening to the introduction of two talented women, internship+mentality+a little luck is the guarantee of successful interview.

In the bibliography and ethnography designated by Peking University before 200 1, these seven books are still tested, but the theoretical books should not be very realistic.

Theory:

1.& lt lecture on social and cultural anthropology >: Zhou Xing, Wang Mingming (just finished reading the first volume).

2. < Introduction to Cultural and Social Anthropology >: robert murphy (if you have time, you can consider reading it)

4. < Collected Works on Social Anthropology in Wu Wenzao >: Wu Wenzao (You can read several articles related to anthropology, and the effect is average)

5. < < Social Anthropology and China Studies > >: Wang Mingming (a must-read for a deeper understanding of anthropology in China)

7 ethnology

2. < Nur > Evans-prichard

3. < Sailors in the Western Pacific >: Malinowski

Interview experience of Peking University anthropology;

This year's anthropology interview in Peking University was held at 3: 00pm on March 29th in Room 5236, Law Building. Interviews are all oral.

First, draw lots. I'll go in for an interview in the order of drawing lots. I drew the middle sign. After I went in, three instructors of anthropology sat in a row, followed by academics from the Department of Sociology of Peking University, holding pens to record interviews. Everything seems simple.

Teacher Cai talked about the requirements of the interview and gave me 15 minutes in total. Let me answer three questions in five minutes. The first question is "your internship experience in the university". The second question is "talk about your motivation to take the anthropology exam"; The third question is "Talk about a classic anthropological book you have read". In fact, five minutes to answer these three questions is not enough. For the first question, I briefly talked about two social practices during my college years. The second question was touched by only one sentence, and the third question was discussed in depth. The book I choose is Samoan Adults, and its background, characteristics, significance and shortcomings are discussed.

Then the three teachers asked three questions respectively. Teacher Gao first asked "What are the shortcomings of Meade's field investigation", then Teacher Cai asked "What courses did you offer during your undergraduate period" and Teacher Wang asked "What classic works have you read".

I feel that the whole interview is urgent and the time is short, so many things can't be done, but there are some aspects that need special attention. For example, Peking University Anthropology pays special attention to your understanding of classic works. So you should be familiar with at least one classic work, which can be said to be the key in the second interview of anthropology at Peking University. Remember, remember!

According to students' feedback, the examination questions in 2005 were more open, giving students more room to play. This may be related to the academic styles of several professors introduced by the Department of Anthropology of CUHK. I wanted to write my thoughts at first, but I couldn't settle down. In fact, I can realize something by reading all the way. It should be said that reading more and thinking more are the unchangeable principles.
