Fruit FL Studio What is a generator

Generators (from samples to synthesized sounds)

So far we have been editing in sample channels, but FL Studio also supports channels that are sounded in real time by software synthesizers , like Wasp, SimSynth Live and TS404. In proper terms, each channel contains a generator, which can be a sample, a synthesizer plug-in, or a sound generator of any kind (tied to the effects in the channel settings window). The combination of generators and sampling channels will definitely bring a huge leap forward to FL Studio!

1. Add a synthesizer channel. To add a synthesis generator channel, click Channels > Add One as shown below, select one from the following list: TS404, 3xOsc, BeepMap, BooBass, Buzz Generator Adapter (not included in the boxed version), FPC, Fruit Kick, Fruity DrumSynth Live , Fruity DX10, Fruity SoundFont, Player, Plucked!, SimSynth, Wasp and more. (The list of generators grows with each new release!)

2. What to expect? The new channel will appear in the beat sequencer, and the generator configuration window will pop up (except for the TS404). If the configuration window is too small, it will appear in the channel settings window (such as 3xOsc, BeepMap, Fruit Kick, FruitySoundFont Player, Plucked!) otherwise it will appear in a separate window (BooBass, Buzz Generator, FPC, Fruity DrumSynth Live, Fruity DX10, SimSynth Live, Wasp)

3. How do I use them? We’ll cover the TS404 in more detail in the next section. Most of the operations you learn there apply to other synthesizers as well, but it’s important to know that most generators have their own proprietary help file. If the generator configuration window is in the channel setting window, please click the channel name; if it is a separate window, please click the small icon in the upper left corner of the dialog box.

4. Preset sounds. Many synthesis generators (BeepMap, Buzz Generator, Fruit Kick, Fruity DrumSynthLive, Fruity DX10, SimSynth Live, Wasp) come with preset sounds. In most cases, you can get them in the Presets section of the menu above, or by clicking the little arrow in the upper right corner. (As shown above)

5. Channel settings. All generators have a channel settings window, which, like the sample generator channels, can be opened by clicking on the channel name. But synthesizers are all different, and not all synthesizer generators have the same panels as sample generators. For example, TS404 has SMP, MISC and FUNC panels, while BeepMap only has INS, MISC and FUNC.

6. What is the use of a generator? OK, let's talk briefly about some of these generators. To learn more about TS404, see the next chapter. For more information on other synthesizers, see the online help. Please note that some generators need to be purchased separately. If you don't purchase it, you can only use their trial version, you can only hear their sound, and the channel cannot be saved to your FL Studio file. a. TS404. A synthesizer that generates synthetic melody and bass melody. The synthesized sound is a bit like the classic TB-303 synthesizer. We'll talk about that in more detail later.

b. 3xOsc. A very simple generator that can mix three harmonics, each producing a sound effect. On their own, they don't sound too outstanding, but if combined with the effects of the INS panel or other plug-in effects (mentioned later), they will be excellent sound materials.

c. BeepMap. A weird thing. You can convert a bitmap format picture into a wonderful and wonderful sound. The principle is the same as that of Aphex Twin, a synthesizer that can analyze your own photos into audio tracks through a spectrum analyzer.

d. BooBass. A small bass generator from the author of SimSynth.

e. Buzz Generator Adapter. Buzz has a bunch of cool buzzing synthesized sounds (the picture below is the famous "Rectal Anarchy sound"). FL Studio comes with some "Buzz Machines" for free. You can find more at: www.BuzzMachines.com Due to copyright issues, this generator is not included in the boxed version of FL studio.

*1. Song/Pattern Buttons

*2. Playhead

f. Dashboard. Allows you to add your own MIDI and internal controller interfaces. (To learn what an internal controller is see the online help)

g. Fruit Kick. A drum synthesizer.

h. Fruity DrumSynth Live. Drum synthesizer plug-in that can define various drum hits and control them through the keyboard.

i. Fruity DX10. An 8-voice polyphonic (8 notes at a time) FM synthesizer that allows you to get high-quality sounds without eating up too many of your CPU resources.

j. Fruity Granulizer. Allows you to get a very cool, drifting sound in the sample. Like sampling “Funk SoulBruvva” slowed down on Fatboy Slim’s “Rockefeller Skank.”

k. Fruity Slicer. This generator slices up a beat and then plays back each drum hit independently using the keyboard. With this tool, you can quickly create cool rhythms. (See the BeatSlicer section below for more information)

l. Fruity SoundFont Player. An advanced sample generator that can call SoundFont2 sound files.

m. Fruity Vibrator. You can use any Force Feedback (.ffe) file to add electronic vibration to your songs. These files can be added using the Microsoft Force Editor editing tool in the DirectX Developer SDK.

n. Plucked! A synthesizer specially used for plucked instruments, such as guitar, harp, mandolin, etc.

o. SimSynth Live. A powerful digital synthesizer. Add psychedelic sound effects to your dance and psychedelic music.

p. Wasp. Another powerful digital synthesizer. This one is better for making fast, compact techno sounds.

q. WaveTraveller. can produce a realistic scratching sound, and you can carefully control its details!

r. Layer. This is not actually a generator, but the coolest thing about it is that it allows you to control a lot of channels at the same time.

s. MIDI Out. This is not a generator either. Allows you to send MIDI control signals to external or internal MIDI devices.

t. FL Keys. A real piano simulator with optimized CPU and memory utilization! FL Keys can also be transformed into a Rhodes & Roto pipe organ using the many additional modules that come with FL Studio.

(Tip: If you want to get more modules, please visit the website: www.flstudio.com)

u. FL Slayer. A real electric guitar simulator, originally designed and improved by reFX, using the same physical construction A very similar hybrid synthesis algorithm. The analog core is similar to a high-quality guitar amplifier unit, plus a powerful effects bar, allowing you to easily reproduce the perfect electric guitar sound without the need for additional plug-ins.

v. Sytrus. An all-in-one synthesizer that combines Frequency Modulation (FM), RingModulation (RM), picking modeling, subtractive synthesizer and a powerful envelope editor . Also included are a powerful editable vocal mode and a comprehensive selection of effects.

w. Fruity Keyboard Controller. A very useful internal controller plug-in that allows you to position notes and their velocities for automation in FL Studio (or a loaded plug-in). This plug-in allows you to quickly perform Pattern Controlled Filtering (PCF), or precisely slide semitone intervals within the plug-in, features that many plug-ins do not natively support (VSTi and DXi plug-ins).

x. Speech Synthesizer. A magical wizard! Your voice can be synthesized!

y. Fruity Pad Controller. Can hook into any MIDI controller, or use a piano chain or sequencer to trigger a drum machine to produce realistic and convenient drum rhythms.

z. VideoPlayer. Video playback synchronized with sound, the video quality is good.

7. More generators! In the FL studio plug-in Fruity Wrapper, you can download or purchase VSTi or DXi plug-in synthesizers. Select Add One > More in the Channels menu, and a plug-in list will pop up (as shown below). You can select any plug-in in the Fruity Generator Plugins directory by double-clicking it. The letter "F" to the left of the plug-in name means "Favorite". After marking, the plug-in will be displayed directly in the Add One menu.
