Historical Evolution of Paifang Village
The former residence of Deng Xiaoping in Paifang Village, like all the rural houses in eastern Sichuan, is an unpretentious three-step courtyard surrounded by bamboo and green trees, with farmland in front of the courtyard and hills behind the house. Deng Xiaoping was born here in 1904 and has lived in his hometown for 15 years. The local people call this farmhouse "Deng Laoyuan".
Deng Xiaoping's former residence is east-west, consisting of three groups of single-storey buildings, east, west and north, with a total of 17 rooms. The house is a suspended mountain wood structure, and the roof is covered with small blue tiles. 195 1 year, Deng Xiaoping's whole family moved to Chongqing. According to his opinion, all the properties in his hometown were handed over to the local government and distributed to the villagers. For more than 50 years, Deng's old yard has been a canteen, storage room, cultural station and kindergarten. After 1980s, the former residence of Deng Xiaoping began to be gradually protected and managed. In 200 1 year, it was officially listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council.
According to the plan, a beautiful and lush "natural memorial hall" will be built in Deng Xiaoping's former residence by 2004. The nature reserve will mainly plant common flowers and trees in rural areas, and will not build cultural landscapes such as flower beds. The restoration of cultural relics and the display of the former residence in this area will reflect the authenticity of history as much as possible, so as to restore the original appearance of Deng Xiaoping's former residence as a teenager.
The earliest building in the old courtyard of the Deng family is the North Wing, which was built by my great-grandfather during Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty, with a history of 120 years. In the north wing, there are Deng Xiaoping's farm tools room, weaving room and sister room.
The fifth room in the north wing is the house of young Deng Xiaoping. There is a wooden bed in his sleeping room. That wooden bed is his mother's dowry. Although it has not faded for a hundred years, wood still gives off a special luster. Deng Xiaoping's desk, oil lamp and inkstone are still in the room. This table is made of cypress, and it is beautifully painted. There is an inkstone, an unburned tung oil lamp and a burning wick on the table. Through the desk and oil lamp, people seem to see Deng Xiaoping reading at his desk.
At the age of five, Deng Xiaoping entered a private school about 1 km away from his former residence and received an enlightenment education. At the age of seven, he began to receive a new education. Deng Xiaoping loves to think with his head since he was a child, and his academic performance has been very good. His father Deng Shaochang believes that the best way to educate children is to "study hard in class, walk more, increase your knowledge and see the world." He often takes Deng Xiaoping to meet some "revolutionaries". Deng Shaochang was enthusiastic about social affairs and had a great influence on Deng Xiaoping. Deng Xiaoping went to Chongqing and studied in the preparatory school for studying in France chosen by his father.
From 19 19 to 1997, Deng Xiaoping has been away from his hometown for 78 years and has never been back to his hometown once, which is rare among the great men in the history of China. Although Deng Xiaoping has never been back to his hometown, he still misses his hometown. 1977 and 1986, Deng Xiaoping came to Chengdu twice to participate in foreign affairs activities, and both took time out to meet with representatives from his hometown. He is very concerned about the construction of his hometown and people's lives, and enjoins villagers to do a good job in farmland capital construction, develop sideline agriculture and animal husbandry, and improve their lives.
Deng Xiaoping's hometown people and elders in Guang 'an are very proud. Nowadays, when they are far away from their hometown, as long as they say they are from Deng Xiaoping, people will always be closer and more polite, because people will turn their admiration for Deng Xiaoping into respect for their hometown.
