Appreciation of Luoyang Road

Say goodbye to friends on a spring night;

Silver candles spit smoke, and gold is like a feast.

Farewell hall in the hall to recall the friendship of friends, bypass the mountain behind the water, a long journey.

The bright moon is high in the treetops, and the long river is still unknown.

To Luoyang, when will this meeting be held?

explain

Bright candles spit plumes of smoke, holding high the golden cup to face the exquisite and rich banquet. In the farewell hall, I recalled the cordial friendship of my friends. After leaving, I walked around the mountains and waters, and the road was long and Xiu Yuan was Xi. The banquet lasted until the bright moon disappeared behind the tall trees and the Milky Way disappeared in the morning light. Walking on this long Luoyang road, I don't know when I will meet you.

(1) knowledge background

Chen Ziang's Farewell to Friends on a Spring Night is the first of two. Written in the spring of 654, the first year of skylight in Wu Ze. At the age of 26, Chen Ziang left her hometown of Shehong, Sichuan, and went to Luoyang, the capital of the east, to write to the court, seeking fame. Before he left, his friends gave a banquet to see him off. During the dinner, the true feelings between friends triggered a wave of poetry in the author's chest. I immediately wrote this farewell work.

(2) Poetry appreciation

At the beginning of this poem, I wrote that the farewell banquet is coming to an end, and the mood and silence of breaking up are provocative. The author grasps the psychological state of this moment as the starting point of poetry, and goes straight into the emotional climax naturally, with deep feelings. "Silver candle spits smoke" with the word "spit", which makes people want to see the expression of being relatively silent and listless, just staring at the smoke of silver candle. The word "Golden Zun is aligned with Yan" is used, which means that in the face of Chinese banquets, there is nothing to comfort except the idea that Golden Zun "advises you to make more wine". In this realm, in silence, we can see the depth of other meanings.

Zhuan Xu's "Going out of the hall and thinking about the harp and walking around the mountains and rivers" refers to the pleasure of friends' feasting, which originated from "I have a guest, playing the drums and playing the piano" by Luming Literature, Xiaoya, which means to use the harmony of the phonology when playing stringed instruments to compare the profound friendship. "Mountains and rivers" means a long way to go, and it is the antithesis of "Qin and Se". In contrast, it can't help but make people feel inner waves: "going out of the hall" hurts "the piano"; "Don't take the road" is far away, and I hate "mountains and rivers". These two sentences deliberately write the lingering feelings of parting, which makes people sad.

The necklace couplet "The moon hides high trees, and the long river does not know the sky" inherits what I saw and heard when I saw the broken arm from indoor to outdoor. At this time, the high shadow covered the low moon in the west; The long river of sadness was drowned in the dawn. There is a word "hide" and a word "no" here, indicating that time urges people to leave, and the time for parting has finally arrived.

At the end of the two sentences, I watched my friends stroll along this endless ancient road in Luoyang, and I couldn't help feeling that I didn't know when I would meet again. There is a word "harmony" at the end of the sentence, which emphasizes that it will be difficult after the meeting, revealing the faint sadness between people.

(3) Evaluation

In this poem, the author does not use the sad sentence of sigh, but sees deep affection in silence. To achieve this state, it should be tepid. Fire is too sad and shallow; "Wen" lacks meaning and feelings. This poem is written calmly and appropriately, just like the sound of pipa strings. The weather is elegant, and there is a lot of affection but no sorrow.

"Silver candles smoke, golden jars feast". The first couplet uses antithesis to make the language full of symmetrical beauty, and at the same time make the scenery in front of us vivid, showing the beauty of color in contrast. Silver candle, crystal white candle. The golden urn describes the wine glass as luxurious and elegant. Feast, feast. This couplet uses gorgeous words, spreading the grand excitement of the banquet and setting off a profound friendship.

Although the banquet was rich, it was designed for seeing off, so it was inevitable to be shrouded in an atmosphere of parting, which gradually made people present feel melancholy and sad in addition to laughter. The couplets of "thinking about the piano outside the hall and circling the mountains and rivers" lead to the theme of parting. This couplet comes from Xie Tiao's poem "Leaving Night", which says "mourning without playing the piano", but it is more natural and profound than Xie's poem, and clearly expresses the parting scene here and now.

The third joint, "The bright moon hides high trees, but the long river does not know", describes the scenery of the night sky. This is not a general description of the scenery, but the development of the background and the passage of time to further contrast feelings. The long river does not know, which means that the Milky Way disappears in the morning. On the surface, this couplet is dedicated to the night sky, but in fact it is closely related to the banquet. The moon has disappeared behind the tall trees, and the Milky Way has disappeared in the early morning light, but people have not dispersed, which shows that the two sides are inseparable, and time has passed unconsciously. Through the length of the banquet, the depth of each other's feelings is set off. This implicit technique of setting off feelings with scenery is more infectious than the positive expression of feelings.
