Jiangxi Public Security College is a full-time public security institution of higher learning, affiliated to the Jiangxi Provincial Public Security Department. The school was founded in 1951 as the Jiangxi Provincial Public Security School. It has gone through the Jiangxi Political Science and Law School, the Jiangxi Political and Legal Cadre School, and the Jiangxi Provincial Political and Legal School. In 1980, and in 1984, with the approval of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government, the Jiangxi Provincial People's Police School and Jiangxi Public Security College were established successively, which was one of the first 13 public security colleges in the country. In 2002, with the approval of the Provincial Department of Education, it jointly offered undergraduate courses with Nanchang University, and also established a “five-year consistent” higher vocational education. In 2007, with the approval of the Provincial Department of Education, we cooperated with the University of the West of England (UWE) in the United Kingdom to establish a criminal technology major (forensic science direction) to jointly cultivate forensic professionals. In the same year, a self-study class was launched to help students take part-time jobs.

The school is currently located in the middle section of Yunwan Highway in Wanli, Xinjian County, Nanchang City, covering an area of ​​2203.7 acres. It has a beautiful environment, pleasant scenery, and advanced facilities. It has teaching buildings, libraries, experimental buildings, and police sports facilities. The school currently has 406 faculty members, including 264 full-time teachers. The school currently has more than 5,700 full-time students. Since its establishment, the school has provided more than 20,000 graduates to the public security, political and legal departments inside and outside the province, and trained more than 20,000 police officers at all levels. Brief history of the school:

The Jiangxi Provincial Public Security School was founded in 1951 and is responsible for the rotational training of on-the-job cadres at the unit, institute, section and bureau levels of the province’s public security agencies. The school is located in Nanchang City Horse tying stakes.

In 1958, the Provincial People's Committee decided to transform the Jiangxi Provincial Public Security School into the Jiangxi Institute of Political Science and Law (Part One of Jiangxi Administration Institute was placed under the school) as a provincial general university, with Vice Governor Wang Zhuochao concurrently serving as the dean and party committee. Secretary, the school moved to Wenjiao Road, Nanchang City. The college has established three teaching and research sections: Marxism-Leninism, Public Security and Politics and Law, and offers a major in politics and law, which lasts two years. That year, it enrolled 146 students in two classes of ordinary college students. In 1961, in order to implement the eight-character policy of "adjustment, consolidation, enrichment, and improvement" of the Party Central Committee, Jiangxi University of Political Science and Law was changed into Jiangxi Political and Legal Cadre School and serving cadres of public security agencies. In October 1972, the Provincial Party Committee decided to restore the Jiangxi Political and Legal Cadre School, and the faculty and staff were transferred back one after another. Since the original school site was occupied by other units, the Provincial Revolutionary Committee decided in 1973 that the Jiangxi Political and Legal Cadre School should be rebuilt in Putai Mountain, Qingyun City, Nanchang City.

Jiangxi Public Security College In January 1978, the Provincial Revolutionary Committee approved the establishment of Jiangxi Political and Legal School, which is jointly run with Jiangxi Political and Legal School. It has two brands and a team of people. It is a full-time ordinary secondary vocational school. It has two majors: public security and justice. The schooling lasts for two years. It recruits students from the general public and has an original capacity of 160 students. In April of the same year, the State Planning Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Finance issued the "Joint Notice on Adding Technical Secondary School Classes to Train New Police Officers in Public Security Schools at All Levels", allocating 150 students to be enrolled in our province each year, and the actual enrollment that year was 235. Among them, 194 are public security majors and 41 are judicial majors. After enrolling ordinary technical secondary school students, rotation training for in-service cadres was temporarily suspended due to lack of funds and tight school buildings. In 1979, Jiangxi Provincial School of Political Science and Law added the procuratorial major, enrolling 51 students that year. In 1980, according to the "Joint Notice on the Establishment of People's Police Schools of Provinces, Municipalities and Autonomous Regions" by the State Planning Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Food and the Ministry of Finance, the Provincial People's Government decided that the Jiangxi Provincial School of Political Science and Law would also be affiliated to the "Jiangxi Provincial People's Police School" In October of the same year, the provincial government agreed to change the public security class of Jiangxi Provincial Political School into the public security major of Jiangxi Provincial People's Police School. In 1981, the Jiangxi Provincial People's Police School added a major in reform-through-labour work, which lasted two years. It enrolled 100 students that year, and the provincial reform-through-labour cadre school was responsible for organizing the teaching.

After 1981, the school had three brands at the same time, namely: Jiangxi Political and Legal Cadre School, Jiangxi Provincial Political and Legal School and Jiangxi Provincial People’s Police School. It was responsible for the dual tasks of training cadres and recruiting ordinary technical secondary school students, and was under the leadership of the Provincial Public Security Department.

In September 1984, the Provincial People's Government decided to transform the Jiangxi Provincial Public Security Cadre School into Jiangxi Public Security College, which was under the leadership of the Provincial Public Security Department and the Provincial Education Commission. It was supervised by the Provincial Public Security Department and Zhang Jinghe, a member of the party group of the department, served as Secretary of the Party Committee, Liang Lidong serves as the principal. The school is located at No. 79 Qingyunpu Road, Nanchang City. It offers three majors: criminal investigation and public security management, and has three departments: criminal investigation, public security management and public security management. In 1985, the first class enrolled 191 students (including 86 students in the cadre major). The establishment of Jiangxi Public Security College marked the formation of a multi-level and multi-channel public security education system adapted to the development of the provincial public security undertakings.
