The origin of Lingshan Buddha

1. Lingshan Giant Buddha was built with the full support of Mr. Zhao Puchu, the president of the former Buddhist Association;

2. The casting of the Giant Buddha is a large-scale and difficult project, and the Preparatory Committee decided that Nanjing Chenguang Group would undertake this project. Nanjing Chenguang Group has reliable technology and has accumulated rich experience in building the Tiantan Giant Buddha in Hong Kong.

3. The architectural structure design of the Giant Buddha is undertaken by East China Architectural Design Institute, which is famous at home and abroad for designing Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower.

Introduction of Lingshan Giant Buddha:

Lingshan Giant Buddha, Leshan Giant Buddha, Tiantan Giant Buddha, Yungang Giant Buddha and Longmen Giant Buddha are five representative Buddha statues in five directions on the land of Shenzhou, which are known as the five directions and five buddhas in China by the Buddhist community. Today, these five Buddha statues representing different historical periods of Buddhism in China have appeared in Lingshan at the same time.

Lingshan Giant Buddha is a world-famous scenic spot, located between the mountains and rivers of Mashan National Scenic Area in Binhu District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, and also one of the important parts of lingshan scenic spot in Wuxi City, a national AAAAA-level scenic spot. The Buddha is located in the south of Qinlv Peak in Mashan, Wuxi, and was opened on November 15th, 1997. The location of the Giant Buddha is Xiaoling Mountain named after Tang Xuanzang, hence the name Lingshan Giant Buddha.
