Zibo city is bounded by Qihe-Guangrao fault, which belongs to Luzhong uplift of Luxitai anticline in the south and Jiyang depression in the north. Luzhong uplift area is composed of basement rock series and caprock. The basement rock series is composed of Taishan rock group and Neoarchean-Proterozoic granite, which has undergone multi-stage metamorphism. The caprocks are mainly Cambrian and Ordovician, and Carboniferous, Permian and Mesozoic sediments are developed in Zibo Basin, Yiyuan Basin and Lucun Basin. Jiyang depression is completely covered by Quaternary strata. Magmatic rocks are widely distributed in China. Precambrian metamorphic magmatic rocks are distributed in the basement rock series in the south of the city, and Mesozoic Yanshanian magmatic rocks are distributed in the fault intersection or fold development area in the north-central part.

Zibo is a city with high in the south and low in the north, with rolling mountains in the south, east and west wings, low depression in the middle, and the height difference between north and south 1000 meters.
