What is the development history of Yilan?
Yilan Plain is dominated by Yanglan Plain, with the old name Karmalan or Clam Nan, and its name comes from the aborigines of Taiwan Province Province who live in the world? Gabalan people (Kebalan, plain people). [4] The earliest historical record of Kalmalan nationality began in 1632. 1632, Spanish people drifted to the port of "Gabarain" due to hurricane, with 50 crew members, all of whom were slaughtered by natives. So he led the Spanish and the aborigines of Luzon Island to this area, burned seven aborigines and killed 12 aborigines. I noticed this place and named the bay north of Suao as "Santacatalina", namely Gamalan Bay, while the bay near Suao Port was named "Sanlorenzo". 』[5]
1768, Lin Hansheng visited Kamalan, but was killed. 1776, Lin Yuanmin went upstream from the river to the north of Wushi Port and successfully entered Kenziwulan, which was the earliest time for Han people to enter Songyang Plain [6]. 1796, Wu Sha, a Han Chinese, defeated Kalmalan people and entered Songyang Plain. "But at that time, Wu (Sha) used firearms very badly, and the Pingpu people finally fled in rout and retreated to the three clubs of Duoluomeiyuan, Zhenzai and Xinzhai Han in the western situation. Wu took advantage of the situation to attack and was invincible along the way, so he entered the head circumference. 』[7]
After the Han people entered the Yang Juan Plain, Yuan Ye and the forest were turned into farmland, the hunting grounds on which Pingpu people lived gradually disappeared, and the traditional culture gradually declined, and most of them were assimilated by the Han people.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Yilan was under the jurisdiction of Zhuluo County, Taiwan. 1723 (the first year of Yongzheng) was placed under the newly established Lianshui Hall of Taiwan Province Municipal Government. 18 12 (Jiaqing 17) added Gamalan Hall in Taiwan Province, which was the beginning of the independent administration of Yilan. 1875 (the first year of Guangxu), Kamalan Hall was upgraded to Yilan County and placed under the newly established Taipei House.
In the early days of Japanese occupation, Yilan County was restructured into Yilan Branch, which was subordinate to Taipei County. 1897 (in the 30th year of Meiji), it was independent as Yilan Hall. 1920 (taisho 9 years), the waste hall was placed in Taipei state.
In the early post-war period, Yilan belonged to the reorganized Taipei County. 1950, Restoration County.
In the Pacific War between Yilan and Kamikaze Special Forces, the Japanese army built the South Airport in Yilan for Kamikaze Special Forces to take off and land, and requisitioned migrant workers to pull from the North Airport to the South Airport along today's Zionist Lane, which was then called Airplane Road. The Japanese army once built a large number of machine castles near Kingsley (Kingsley Road) to park and protect fighter planes. When the United States sent bombers to bomb fighter planes, the Japanese army called on the students of Yilan Agricultural School to make fake planes with straw and branches to deceive the enemy. Today you can still see the remains of about three machine castles.
The main part of the plain is Yanglan Plain, surrounded by mountains on three sides and the Pacific Ocean (Philippine Sea) in the east. This is an alluvial plain produced by the alluvial action of Lanyang River, with fertile soil. Although it is generally classified as Dongtai Bay Province, the Yilan Railway was completed during the Japanese occupation period, and the transportation between Taipei and Taipei is convenient, so it is classified as Taipei State. In June 2006, National Highway No.5 (Jiangweishui Expressway) was opened to traffic, which shortened the traffic time from Yilan County to Taipei City to 1 hour.
Nan 'ao Township in the south of yilan county is mountainous, connected with Bade County, and Suhua Highway runs through it.
The west is bounded by the central mountains such as Snow Mountain and Dabajian Mountain, and it is adjacent to many counties in western Taiwan, including Fuxing Township of Baolan Shipyard County, Jianshi Township of Hsinchu County and Heping District of Taichung City (the source of traffic routes such as Lishan and Wuling Farm).
To the east is the Pacific Ocean, and there are endless sand dunes (such as snakes) along the coast from the estuary of Dezikou River to the estuary of Lanyang River, which are located on the periphery of Guishan Island (turtle). Therefore, there is a saying in folk geomantic omen that "turtles and snakes guard the estuary" to protect the Yanglan Plain and make the products rich.
Luodong Town, the most densely populated town in yilan county, is the commercial center of yilan county, while Yilan City is the most populous town among all towns, the seat of the yilan county Municipal Government and the administrative center of yilan county. These two cities are located in the northwest (Yilan) and southwest (Luodong) on both sides of the Lanyang River.
Luodong Town is the second smallest town-level district in Taiwan Province Province (after Yonghe District in New Taipei City) and the smallest town-level district in Taiwan Province Province. So although it is the commercial center of yilan county, it is not a county-level city.
Climate Yilan has been famous for its rainy weather since ancient times. There is a saying in Taiwan Province Province: "There is rain in the bamboo orchid", which describes the phenomenon that it is windy in Hsinchu and rainy in Yilan. Because Yanglan Plain is surrounded by mountains on three sides and the sea in the east, it presents a dustpan-shaped terrain, which is particularly prone to topographic precipitation. Especially when the northeast monsoon prevails in winter, the northeast monsoon is injected from the east and the winter rain lasts for several months, which is a unique climate phenomenon in Yilan. Coupled with the rainy season in spring, it often rains in Mao Mao for several months, so it is also called "Cynthia Rain".
