According to the US Census Bureau, the area of this city is 100. 1 square mile (259 square kilometers), of which 97.8 1% is land and 2. 19% is water.
The depth of groundwater is generally around 30 feet (9 meters). Most of the land is located in the west of the city (in Youluo County), and a huge flood control basin (in Youluo Bypass) will be permanently reserved. Due to the history of the city, this basin is prone to floods. Therefore, the metropolitan area extends only 4 miles (6 kilometers) in the western urban area (such as West Sacramento, California), but 30 miles (48 kilometers) in the northeast and east, reaching the foot of the Sierra Nevada, and extending 65,438+00 miles (65,438+06 kilometers) south into the valley farmland.
Located at the confluence of the Sacramento River and the American River, the city has a deep-water port connected with San Francisco Bay through the Sacramento River Delta. It is the shipping and railway center of the Sacramento Valley. Food processing is one of the major industries in this area.

Climate [edit]
Sacramento has a Mediterranean climate (CSA in Ke Ben), which is characterized by humidity, mild winter and hot and dry summer. The rainy season is generally from June 10 to April 1 day, although there may be light rain in June, there are one or two days in September. The annual average temperature is 6 1.0 F (16. 1 C), and the monthly and daily average temperatures range from 46.4 F (8.0 C) in1February to 75.5 F (24.2 C) in July. In the hot summer, it is usually called "delta breeze" by sea breeze, which is obviously carried out at night from San Francisco Bay and the temperature through the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta region.
The vaguest months are December and January. The fog in Toule may be very thick, and the visibility is reduced by less than 100 feet (30m), making the driving conditions extremely dangerous. The chilling fog incident in Le Tu has been known in the past few days or weeks. In the Thule fog incident, the temperature did not exceed 50 degrees.
Snowfall in Sacramento is rare, only 25 feet (7.6 meters) above sea level. There have been only three significant snowfalls in the urban area since 1900, and the last one was 1976 [25]. Especially in the cold winter and spring storms, heavy showers occasionally produce a lot of hail, which will cause dangerous driving conditions. The snowfall in autumn in cities usually melts after touching the ground, and can be traced back to the amount that occurred in some years. 40 miles (64 kilometers) away, there is a lot of snow in the hilly area in the east of the city every year. There were short-term traceable snowfalls in June 2002, February 2009 and February 201/kloc-0. [ 26 ] [ 27 ]
The average height exceeds 90 F (32 C) for 73 days, and the height exceeds 38°C for 14 days; At the other extreme, the temperature is below 50 F (10 C) for 15 days and there are 15 frozen nights every year. [28] Extreme values are all at 65438+17 f (12 c)12+February 1 1 day, 1932 to1/kloc. [29]
The average annual precipitation is 18.52 inches (470 mm). On average, the precipitation in Sacramento decreases by 60 days every year, and almost all the decrease occurs in winter. The average rainfall in January is (93mm) 3.67, but there is little measurable rainfall in summer. 1February, 1992, it rained in Sacramento 16 days, resulting in 6.4 1 (163 mm), which was used for accumulation during the period. In rare cases, the monsoon moisture tide from the southwest of the desert can bring the upper moisture to Sacramento, thus increasing clouds and humidity, and even increasing showers and thunderstorms in summer. Monsoon clouds appear from time to time, usually from late July to early September. Sacramento is the second largest flood-prone city in the United States, second only to New Orleans. [ 30 ]
Sacramento noticed that as the sunniest place on earth, there are three months in a year, from July to September. The most sunny month is different from the possible sunshine percentage anywhere in the world; In July, the average time in Sacramento was 14 hours 12 minutes, and the daily sunshine was about 97%.
