The geographical environment of Rong'an County
The terrain of Rong'an County is like a leg. It is 89 kilometers long from north to south and 44.5 kilometers wide from east to west. The total area of Rongan County is 2,905 square kilometers, including 2,863 square kilometers of land, accounting for 98.55% of the total area; and 42 square kilometers of water, accounting for 1.45%.
The landforms of Rongan County can be roughly divided into several types: medium-low mountains and steep slopes, low mountains and gentle slopes, karst peaks and sedimentary plains. Forage plants: 9 kinds of forage plants, including asparagus, silk grass, bay grass, and yellow grass. Bamboo plants: golden bamboo, purple bamboo, spotted bamboo, Luohan bamboo, square bamboo, cool bamboo mat and other plants. Mainly distributed in Banlan, Yayao, Dajiang, Dapo and other places. There are more than 40 kinds of animals: wild boars, mountain cattle, goats, yellow pheasants, muntjacs, cats, bamboo rats, weasels, wild dogs, deer, raccoons, bears, jackals, leopards, and four different elephants. In 1970, the Sancha Production Team of the Papaya Brigade of Fushi Commune hunted a yellow-spotted tiger (South China tiger). Since then, few traces of tigers have been found in the county. The above-mentioned wild animals are mainly distributed in deep mountains and old forests in remote mountainous areas.
Birds: There are more than 40 kinds of mynas, herons, magpies, larks, sparrows, harriers, thrushes, etc. Distributed throughout Rong'an County.
Amphibians and reptiles: more than 20 species including taro snake, phoebe snake, water snake, grass snake, viper, etc. Distributed throughout Rong'an.
