What is the Western Heaven like?
On the east side of Beihai Jingxinzhai, there is a temple group, which used to be the Daxijing Factory. In the Qing Dynasty, it was called "Western Heaven" and "Great Western Heaven". Xitian Buddhist Temple was originally a Tibetan temple in the Buddhist forest of Xitian in Ming Dynasty. It was rebuilt in Qingganlong 1759 and expanded westward.
The wall of the "Western Heaven" is a bamboo wall with blue tiles, and there are three independent white marble coupon doors, all of which are yellow glazed tiles resting on the top of the mountain. Below the gatehouse is a red wall supported by white marble Mount Sumi. The left and right gatehouses are connected by walls, and the outer platform of the middle gatehouse is exposed to the white marble fence.
The single relief in the middle of the steps is two dragons playing with beads. This piece of white marble is a single stroke, with delicate stone and exquisite carving. It is one of the rare masterpieces of ancient stone carving art.
