1, Girls' Day: 15th day of the first lunar month.
On this day, Bai women from southern Yunnan and Yang Cen in Jianchuan County will take part in activities. They will donate money and get together. They will specially ask someone to tie up a girl's idol, dress her in Bai costumes, swing on the swing frame behind her back, and everyone will dance, sing and entertain around her, and then hold a memorial service at the riverside by the sea. In the evening, one person held the idol of "Green Girl" as the leader, and then, the daughters walked up and down the streets of the village, singing Long song's "Green Girl" as they walked. Then I went back to the village venue and played on the swing with the "green girl" until late at night. Finally, the "green girl" was sent to Haiwei River.
Legend has it that the Girls' Day of Bai women in Jianchuan is to commemorate ancient girls. Young girls are smart and beautiful. When she was a child, her parents died and she was forced to be a child bride, shouldering heavy housework in her husband's family and being abused by her mother-in-law. One day, my sister-in-law incited her husband to beat her young girl. Desperate, she jumped into the Haiwei River and committed suicide. It happened to be the fifteenth day of the first month, so it was convenient for Bai women to get together on this day to commemorate her, to oppose feudal ethics and honor girls.
