Origin of the name
When people come to Jiaozhi, many people will ask this question, that is, where did this "Jiao" come from, and why is it called Jiaozhi? According to "Puli Zhi": Jiaozhi's original name was Fuli, and it got its name because of the "Fulitang" in the west of the town. Later, because there was a straight port in the east of the town, leading to six places, and the shape of the water flow had a cool character like "jiao", it was renamed "jiaozhi". It is also said that the ancient unicorn mythical beast "Jiaoduan" inspected the land of China and saw that this was a geomantic treasure land, so it stayed in Jiaozhi for a long time. The one square kilometer ancient town originally had 72 and a half stone arch bridges from the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and 41 of them are now in existence, with different shapes, characteristics and antiques. There are large perforated stone bridges, small single-hole stone bridges, spacious arched bridges, narrow flat-top bridges, as well as highly decorative double bridges, adjacent sister bridges on the left and right, and flat bridges for the convenience of townspeople.
