A glimpse of the scenery of Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang

Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village is an important natural and cultural tourist area in colorful Guizhou, with beautiful mountains and green waters and rich traditional ethnic customs and culture. Ten years ago, I visited this place with my friend Xing, and took rare photos of the scenery. Because it was raining, foggy, and the photography skills at that time were bad, the pictures taken were not satisfactory. However, it is finally a souvenir.

The Miao architecture in Qianhu Miao Village in Xijiang is mainly wooden stilted buildings, with a bucket-style roof structure. There are two types of stilted buildings on flat ground and stilted buildings on slopes. They are generally three-story structures with four bunks and three bays or five bunkers and four bays. The bottom floor is used to store production tools, house poultry and livestock, store fertilizer, or serve as a toilet. The second floor is used for the living room, main room, bedroom and kitchen. There is a unique "beauty leaning" on the outside of the main room, which is called "step rest" in Miao language. It is mainly used for enjoying the shade, embroidery and resting. It is a major feature of Miao architecture. The third floor is mainly used to store grain, feed and other production and living materials. The Xijiang Miao Diaojiao Building originated from the southern stilt-style buildings of ancient residents. It uses a combination of multiple structures such as rectangles, triangles, and rhombuses to form a three-dimensional network system. It is integrated with the surrounding mountains, green waters, and pastoral scenery, harmoniously, and complementing each other. , is a living fossil of ancient Chinese residential buildings; it has high aesthetic value in architecture and other aspects. It reflects the national psychology of Miao residents to cherish land and save land, and has positive educational significance in the current situation of my country with more people and less land. The congratulatory speech and the house-building song of the Liang Dynasty have a strong religious and cultural flavor of the Miao people. It is an important bearer of Miao traditional culture.

In order to improve the feng shui conditions of the village and facilitate residents' lives, most Miao villages have built wind and rain bridges near the villages to collect wind and energy and block wind and rain. There used to be wind and rain wooden bridges in Xijiang, mainly including the Pingzhai Wind and Rain Bridge from Pingzhai to Oga and the Nanshou Wind and Rain Bridge in Nangui Village, which blocked the Feng Shui of Dazhai in Xijiang. Because it was a wooden structure, it was destroyed by floods after several repairs. There were five wind and rain bridges built in Xijiang in 2008. They are the bow-shaped cement wind and rain bridge connecting Dazhai and Xijiang Middle School, the bow-shaped cement wind and rain bridge on the main road No. 1, and the bow-shaped cement wind and rain bridge No. 2 and No. 4 on the opposite side of Dazhai. , connecting the Nangui bow-shaped cement wind and rain bridge. Since the previous wind and rain bridge was built with an all-wood structure, it was easily washed away by floods. The current wind and rain bridge is entirely made of a mixed structure of cement and wood, which makes the wind and rain bridge more solid and more durable. The ability to withstand floods is greatly increased.

Every evening, thousands of households light up their lights.
