Where is Caishen Tower located?
The God of Wealth Building is a landmark building in Zhouzi Ancient Town. It was built in the early Tang Dynasty (it was repaired during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty) and was destroyed and demolished in the last century. The God of Wealth Building we see now was built in 2006 according to the " It was rebuilt on the original site based on the principle of "repairing the new as the old". Covering an area of 276m2 and a building area of 439m2, it is a four-story open-roofed pavilion. The building is 24.8 meters high, which means the four seasons. The construction of the God of Wealth Tower here has a long history. Chinese folk Feng Shui advocates that "Mountains manage people but water controls wealth". From the perspective of Feng Shui, the ancients believed that the good Feng Shui of Zhouzi Ancient Town lies in the Tai Chi diagram formed by the Jialing River and the floodplain wetland - Longjiao Mountain is backed by Longjiao Mountain, which looks like a crouching dragon drinking water, and the Jialing River lies in front of it like a jade belt. But the fly in the ointment is that the left is low and the right is high, which loses the distinction between guest and host. The surging Jialing River washes away the financial resources of the ancient town. Therefore, the people of the ancient town used the Feng Shui concept of "filling in the gaps" to build this God of Wealth Tower on the riverside, hoping that the gods would bless the people of the ancient town with promotion, wealth, good luck and peace.
The first floor of the God of Wealth Building is an open passage, with two imitation copper and golden toads carved at the entrance and exit. The golden toad is a three-legged toad. The ancients believed that it was a spiritual creature that could bring wealth. The purpose of shaping these four golden toads is to hope that "the golden toads will bring wealth from all directions". On the railings around the perimeter of the second floor, there are carved patterns of double dragons bringing treasures, which means that wealth will come from all directions. There are also fish-shaped wind chimes hanging on the cornices of each floor, symbolizing a good harvest and plenty every year. On the roof of the building, there is also a treasure vase decorated with wish-fulfilling branches, which symbolizes prosperity and good luck. These all reflect the culture of the God of Wealth. On the top floor are enshrined three statues: Zhao Gongming, the god of martial arts and wealth, who is in charge of all gold and silver treasures in the world; Emperor Wenchang, the god of literature and wealth, who is in charge of all fame and wealth in the world; and Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East China Sea, who is responsible for the wind and rain in the world. Each of these three statues is 1.6879 meters high, which is homophonic to the meaning of "start walking all the way". Several statues of gods were consecrated by eminent monks. It is said that as long as you make a wish here, worship it and burn incense, your wish will come true.
The two couplets of the God of Wealth Building: "Ask where in Jialing, three hundred miles away, there is a painting saint, and check the history of five thousand years, how many people don't love the God of Wealth" and "The building adds a lake of beauty and water." "The Love of the Three Saints" further enriches the cultural connotation of the God of Fortune Tower. It not only praises the God of Wealth Tower for making the scenery of Jialing River more beautiful, but also explains the deep historical origins of the painting saint Wu Daozi, the saint of writing and love Sima Xiangru and the Jialing River. In Chinese folk belief, the God of Wealth plays an important role in people's minds.
