Cultural Legend of Yuanzhou Bridge Building
Legend has it that the origin of Yuanzhou Zen House is related to Yuan Tiangang.
Yuan Tiangang is a world-famous ancient astronomer in China. Emperor Taizong was Qin Tianjian at that time, and the Big Dipper was named after him. Yuan Tiangang lived and grew up in Yuanzhou, Yichun, and was fascinated by astronomy and geography since childhood. He thinks about observing the sky, measuring the terrain and studying mysteries all day. By chance, he heard that Yuanzhou House was shaped like a turtle and immediately became interested. After careful observation, it turned out to be so, so craftsmen were asked to drill five wells with turtle noses, turtle eyebrows and turtle eyes in several directions in the city, thus completing the complete turtle shape. He is more obsessed with astronomical observation. As long as it is sunny, he observes the rise and fall of the sun and the changes of the stars at night. He persisted for decades, invented a kind of sky-watching equipment called Xuantongji, recorded his own experience and predicted the weather for acquaintances many times. It is really accurate, so it is spread more and more. After his death, he was buried not far from the west side of Yichun House. Yichun people also built a ancestral temple in the second year of the Southern Tang Dynasty (954) to commemorate him, which was the original site of Yuanzhou's dead building.
Teng Qiang Shu Jian Lou
Twelve years of Jiading in Southern Song Dynasty (12 19). Teng Qiangshu, the newly appointed governor of Yuanzhou, hosted a banquet for local celebrities at home. Teng magistrate looked at the time card he made, and it was past dinner time. Because the rules of summer are influenced by sunshine, summer passes slowly, and guests arrive after dark. Afterwards, Teng Qiangshu felt more and more wrong. Just dinner. If you meet with military intelligence or something, wouldn't you miss the big event? So, I decided to build a complete monitoring and reporting tower.
As for the location of the building, Teng Zhifu thought of Yuantiangang Temple. Yuan's ancestors were astronomers in Yichun, and the instrument he invented to observe the astronomical phenomena still exists. It is also the best comfort for him to rebuild a complete building that measures time, punctuality and tells time to commemorate the ancestral temple. On the Mid-Autumn Festival, Teng Zhifu personally presided over the construction. The progress of civil engineering is very fast, but the procurement of beam and column materials is difficult. Because of the tight construction period, 24 Chinese fir trees bought from left to right are thick, but not straight enough. Teng magistrate was very anxious when he heard about it, so he called the craftsmen to discuss what to do. A carpenter looked back and forth at 24 pieces of wood and suggested, "People can lift weights with open hands. These beams and columns are very convenient to put together, and if they are tilted, they can support the house strongly." Everyone thinks it makes sense. As a result, the East Eight Pillars, the Middle Eight Pillars, and the west eight Pillars, which support the roofs with sloping hills and double eaves, have remained standing and become masterpieces and miracles in the history of architecture. After the completion of the bridge building, musical instruments such as bronze pot, night Tianchi, sun Tianchi, flat pot, water sea, shadow table, Dingnan needle, Geng domain and iron drum horn were added, and yin and yang students were set up to watch the drums and tell the time in turn every day.
