Where is Tantuo Temple?

Tanzhe Temple is located at the foot of Tanzhe Mountain in the southeast of Mentougou District in western Beijing, more than 30 kilometers away from the city center. The temple faces south, with its back on Mount Everest. Tanzhe Temple covers an area of 2.5 hectares, and outside the temple 1 1.2 hectares. Together with the surrounding forests and Shan Ye under the jurisdiction of Tanzhe Temple, the total area is more than 12 1 hectare.

Tanzhe Temple was built in the first year of Yongjia in the Western Jin Dynasty (AD 307). Originally known as Kafka Temple, this temple was named Yun Xiu Temple by Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty. However, because there is Longtan behind the temple and Zheshu on the mountain, it has always been called "Tanzhe Temple" by the people.

Scenery of Tanzhe Mountain

Tanzhe Mountain is backed by a round mountain with lush vegetation, full of green. It is called Baozhu Peak, and the locals call it Spider Peak. Around the mountain, there are nine tall peaks, counted from the east, which are "Huilong Peak, Huju Peak, Pengrifeng, Cui Yufeng, Ji Yunfeng, Luo Haifeng, jiayue Peak, Elephant Wang Feng and Lotus Peak" in turn.

Be careful of another mountain peak. Jiu Feng stood around. Nine high peaks form a semicircular horseshoe shape, and the Mount Qomolangma, where Tanzhe Temple is located, is located in the center, just like nine dragons around a treasure, fighting wits and playing.

Because these nine tall peaks are used as barriers to stop the cold current and sandstorm from the northwest, Mount Qomolangma can be pine and cypress, with lush flowers and plants. Huang Youshi, an ancient poet, praised: "Jiu Feng is surrounded by clusters, and the old palace is a long pool. The phosphorus claw is still in your hand, with a round shadow in the middle. This is "Dragon Play Pearl", the second of the ten scenic spots in Tanzhe Temple.
