In China's traditional folk concept, the god of wealth is regarded as the god in charge of human wealth; If you get his blessing, you will be rich in money and have a rich house. Therefore, for peace of mind, many people often put the statue of the god of wealth at home, hoping to get a good sign. Others burn incense every morning and evening. But many people have the same question, that is, there are many kinds of wealth gods circulating among the people, which one is suitable for their own display or worship? Although there are many folk God of Wealth, they can be roughly divided into God of Wealth and Wu Caishen.
1, the god of wealth: There are two kinds of god of wealth, which are divided into three stars: Xing Jun and Fu Lushou.
(1) Caibo Xing Jun: He looks very rich. He is an old man with a white face and a long beard. He was wearing a jade belt, holding a gold ingot in his left hand and a scroll with the words "Make a fortune" in his right hand. His face looks like a rich man. According to legend, he is a white star in the sky and belongs to the golden god. His title in the sky is "becoming a wealth star all day", and he is in charge of all the gold and silver wealth in the world. Therefore, many people who seek money respect him very much, and some even offer incense day and night.
(2) Fu Lushou Samsung: "Fuxing" holds a son in hand, symbolizing the blessing of having everything. "Lu Xing" wears a luxurious royal dress and holds jade in his hand, symbolizing promotion and knighthood, and increasing wealth and making a fortune. "Shouxing" holds a peach with a happy and peaceful smile, symbolizing Ankang and longevity. Among the three stars of Fu Lushou, only "Lu Xing" is the god of wealth; But because Samsung is usually a trinity, Fu and Shou are regarded as the god of wealth together. If you put the three stars of Fu, Lu and Shou in the financial position, no matter what the geomantic omen is, you will feel very comfortable visually and psychologically as long as you have these three stars and a room full of auspicious celebrations. As a civilian, as well as an employed worker, this is a desirable place or to worship the god of wealth; As for those business owners and soldiers in Wuzhi, Wu Caishen should be placed or enshrined.
2. Wu Caishen: There are two kinds of Wu Caishen, one is Zhao Gongming with a black face in Darkmouth, and the other is Guan Gong with a red face and a long beard.
(1) Zhao Gongming, also known as Zhao Xuan, was a commander in chief. Zhao Gongming is Wu Caishen. It is said that it can exorcise demons and make money, so many businessmen in the north like to sacrifice it in shops. Most businessmen in the south worship Guan Gong.
(2) Guan Yu: Guan Yu, formerly known as Guan Yu, was a famous soldier in the Three Kingdoms period. Powerful image, he is not only brave and touching, but also can turn money into treasure and protect money from evil. One thing must be noted, the God of Wealth and Wu Caishen are placed in different directions, so we must distinguish them clearly! The god of wealth with a peaceful face, whether it is a rich and prosperous star king or a three-star Fu Lushou, should face the inside of the house, not the outside. Otherwise, you will send money outside the house! As for the majestic Wu Caishen, it should face outward or the gate, so that on the one hand, money can enter the house, and at the same time, it can guard the door to prevent foreign evil from invading.
3. The orientation of the Buddha
China people have always been a polytheistic nation, and their beliefs are free, so all kinds of gods are worshipped. Even in today's rather westernized society of Hong Kong and Singapore, many people still keep the traditional customs, set up holy tables at home and burn incense devoutly every morning and evening.
According to the custom, there are some taboos to pay attention to when placing the sacred table:
(1) The holy table should face the gate: the holy table should face the gate. Look at the Taoist temples all over the world. All the gods face the gate, and you will know that this statement is correct. In the family, except for some idols who have to face the door, others don't have to stick to the rules; For example, "Guandi" and "the landlord's god of wealth" should face the door, and nothing else is needed. "Guandi" is Wu Caishen, with a dragon eyebrow and a phoenix eye, holding a dragon crescent moon blade. It is not only majestic, but also majestic, which makes evil spirits flinch, so most families regard it as the god of the town house. If it is facing the gate, it has the function of guarding the portal. "Landlord God of Wealth", the full name is "Dragon God of Five Countries and Five Earths, and Landlord God of Wealth before and after". In the traditional society of China, the "landlord God of Wealth" is enshrined in the house, and the "doorway" outside the door is the patron saint of a house. But now many buildings are not allowed to provide "land at the entrance" in public corridors. Therefore, the "landlord and god of wealth" in the house will have two jobs, and they must face the door to stop the evil house from raging! As can be seen from the quotations, "Guandi" and "Earth God of Wealth" should face the door.
(2) The decoration of Guanyin: Many people put Guanyin and Guandi together for worship, which is actually inappropriate. Because Guanyin is the god of Buddhism, Guandi is the hero idol worshipped by the people; Moreover, Guanyin is merciful, and it is forbidden to kill. Guandi is jealous of evil and makes contributions with blood! Therefore, it is really inappropriate to worship the two together. As mentioned above, Guandi has to go to the gate, but Guanyin doesn't have to go. Guanyin had better "sit west to east". In addition, because Guanyin is pure, there are three things to do:
One does not go to the toilet;
Second, don't come to the door; (3) Ancestors should not be on the same side as the gods: some people put photos of ancestral tablets on the table of the gods, on the same side as Guanyin, Guandi and Wong Tai Sin. In fact, this is not appropriate, because ancestors are only family gods, comparable to the difficulties of these gods. I think it is more appropriate to put ancestors under "God"! In a word, if people want to feel at ease, they should worship God. If you commit a crime and harm the world, you will always feel guilty even if you worship the gods all over the world. It is of no help at all! Do good deeds and accumulate virtue, even if you don't worship God, you can feel at ease and the evil spirits will be gone.
Three don't go to the table.
If you can observe the above three taboos, it won't be a problem.
Please note that Guanyin is vegetarian and fast, and only flowers and fruits are suitable for offering sacrifices. Therefore, if it is put with other gods, then other gods can't worship with three sacrifices. Buddha and bodhisattva generally recommend the upper position, that is, the position that you can see at a glance when you open the door.
Of course, the actual situation can be flexibly mastered according to your actual decoration, and the harmony between Buddhism and law is possible.
Where is the top? Sit in this seat, at every door, when people come in, you will see it first. This position is the big position, which is the upper position. Because the building of the house faces different directions, no matter which direction, it is necessary to worship the Buddha in the upper position, not to engage in the southeast and northwest. That's right.
Burning incense is not for Buddha and Bodhisattva to eat, nor for Buddha and Bodhisattva to smell. Used to remind yourself that if you never forget the teachings of Buddha and Bodhisattva, you will never do anything wrong or regret it.
It is common to offer flowers and fruits in front of the Buddha. It is often seen that people come to temples with fragrant flowers and fruits to offer sacrifices to buddhas and bodhisattvas. What do you mean? Flowers represent cause, and fruit is fruit. Flowers are good, career is good, and fruit is good. If fruit is good, it will be good. Flowers and fruits represent cause and effect, so you can see that you often think that planting well leads to good results. If you can think of this, the light will shine and your heart will shine! It's not for flowers to be seen and appreciated by buddhas and bodhisattvas. All buddhas and bodhisattvas are clay sculptures. How can they appreciate it? Buddha and bodhisattva will not eat fruit, so we must understand this truth. This is teaching. Don't misunderstand the meaning! Someone asked, which flowers can't be dedicated to Buddha and Bodhisattva? What fruits can't be offered to buddhas and bodhisattvas? Then this is superstition. In Buddhism, no matter what kind of flowers can be sacrificed, no matter what kind of fruit can also be sacrificed to the Buddha. Our most common water supply, water is the most important of all offerings, provide a glass of water. It is best to hold water in a transparent glass. Why? Let's see, this is the best, it shows the law! What does water stand for? Water represents our hearts. This glass of water is clean and pollution-free, showing a clean heart. There are no waves in the water, it is flat, representing equality. So this glass of water is for us to see. We often think that my own heart should be pure and equal, that's what it means. Water can always be supplied, as can flowers, fruits and lanterns. Teaching you to watch during the day and at night, no matter when, will cause Tathagata to teach us. It always reminds me that I am in that place, which means this. Just because food can't be preserved for a long time, because there is less expression for food and more expression for gratitude. When we eat three meals a day, we don't forget: I want to support the Buddha and all sentient beings in the dharma world. Buddhism calls eating out. Eating out is for all ghosts and gods, and we don't forget to eat. But you should know that all buddhas and bodhisattvas eat once a day, so sooner or later they decide not to provide food, but to eat once a day. Provide at noon, and withdraw after the supply is completed; Just like you invite people to dinner, of course, you should take the rest of the dishes away after dinner, and you can't always put them in front of the guests. Run out at any time and withdraw at any time. So offer food to Buddha, and withdraw immediately after feeding. It must be understood that after abstinence, it is for the public, first for the Buddha, then for the public. Fragrant flower fruit display, display methods can often be placed there.
