Why can electric cars sell so well in Chengdu without the "green card privilege"?
The obviously stricter license restriction policy will once again push up the popularity of Shanghai's already tight license resources. You know, the auction cycle of a Shanghai brand is as short as two or three months and as long as one or two years. At the same time, the price is close to 654.38+million, almost catching up with the price of a compact joint venture car.
Many car owners aim at the unlimited number of new energy vehicles in order to travel normally. In fact, as early as one month before the implementation of the policy, all 4S stores and experience centers in Shanghai that can sell green brand new energy vehicles have fallen, and the spot has been swept away. The pick-up time of some models has even been delayed until next year.
It can be seen that the restriction policy of big cities has obvious promotion effect on the sales of new energy vehicles. But for consumers, if it weren't for the stricter licensing policy, would they still take the initiative to buy new energy vehicles?
The answer of new energy owners in most areas may be: no! But in one city, the situation is just the opposite, and that is Chengdu.
During the period of 2020 1- 10, the top ten sales of new energy vehicles are Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Zhengzhou, Liuzhou and Chongqing. It is not difficult to find that the top six cities are all restricted cities, while the seventh Chengdu is actually not limited to purchase.
Simply put, consumers in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen may have "no choice" to buy new energy vehicles, but most car owners in Chengdu are willing to buy new energy vehicles. And this situation is not a day or two. Last year, the sales volume of new energy vehicles in Chengdu was also the first in "unlimited cities".
So why do new energy vehicles sell well in Chengdu? In order to solve this problem, we interviewed and investigated new energy owners in Chengdu, trying to get the most authentic feedback from them.
In 2020, the battery life of mainstream pure electric vehicles is close to 500km, which is equivalent to that of fuel vehicles. However, the endurance anxiety of most car owners has not been alleviated by the increase of cruising range. The core reason is that the convenience of charging electric vehicles is blocked.
20 19 data shows that the number of private charging piles in China is only 703,000, while the number of new energy vehicles is 38 1 10,000, and the proportion of private charging piles in the number of new energy vehicles is only 18.4%. This means that only two out of every 10 new energy vehicles have private charging conditions.
Similarly, last year, there were only 2 1.69 million public fast-filling piles available in China, but 3 1 10,000 owners without piles needed to be served, and the ratio of vehicles to piles was 1: 1.4. For electric vehicles with a single charging time of at least 1 hour, this ratio is seriously insufficient.
At the same time, due to the uneven distribution of domestic charging piles, it is difficult for car owners to charge nearby. Even if you find a charging station by driving, due to the interests of some parking lots and the lack of "self-discipline" of some car owners, the charging parking spaces of electric vehicles are often not developed or even "occupied" by fuel vehicles. These have seriously affected the car experience of electric car owners in many first-tier cities.
However, the difficulty in charging electric vehicles does not exist in Chengdu.
In the interview, the vast majority of Chengdu electric car owners said that convenient charging is a major reason for choosing to buy electric cars. The convenience of charging here actually means: it is convenient to install private charging piles; It's convenient and quick to find a pile to fill up.
Tesla model? 3? Owner A said: "It is particularly convenient to install private charging piles in Chengdu. The basic steps are the same as those written online, such as having a parking space, communicating with the property before installation, and then applying. " "Generally speaking, as long as it is not an old community, the property and related departments of most communities will not kick the ball to find trouble, and it is not as difficult as online."
The situation described by Owner A is indeed the current situation in Chengdu. According to the underground parking lot in the residential area where I live, no matter whether your new energy vehicle is Tesla or a domestic brand, as long as you have the need to install private charging piles, the residential property will basically support it. However, it should be noted that if your parking space is open-air, the property may not agree to install it for safety reasons (exposure to the rain will cause safety problems).
"It is convenient to find public charging piles" is mainly reflected in the fact that there are many charging stations in Chengdu, living in suburban counties of Chengdu? Audi e-tron? In the words of owner B, "I have to drive to Chengdu every week to do business, so I don't have to worry about finding a charging pile. As long as I turn on my mobile phone, there is a fast charging pile that can be charged normally. "
At first, I was skeptical about what owner B said, because I tested the Tesla model for a week when I was in college (four years ago). S, every time you need to charge, you basically have to wear half of Chengdu to reach Tesla's super charging station, and you have to run back and forth for about 50km. At that time, there were very few super charging piles in Tesla, let alone ordinary fast charging piles, and there was basically no shadow.
But now I open the "charging pile map" in Baidu map APP, and I know that the charging pile laying speed in Chengdu in the past two years is really too fast. The main urban area is basically covered, the number of charging stations is sufficient, and there is no crowded charging of electric vehicles in most time periods.
Being able to achieve today's performance is actually inseparable from the development planning of charging piles. As early as 20 17, Chengdu issued the "special plan for charging and replacing electric vehicles in Chengdu", which developed according to the conventional model. By 2020, the city will build more than 1 10000 charging piles, and the overall pile-vehicle ratio will be no less than 1: 1, surpassing Beijing.
It is estimated that by the first quarter of next year, Chengdu will have at least one charging station every 5 km radius. It can be seen that good charging pile infrastructure construction has given Chengdu electric car owners a good car experience.
According to our simple statistics, among more than 20 electric car owners interviewed in Chengdu, more than 90% of the electric cars purchased by the owners are the second (or third) cars at home, which is consistent with our previous expectations.
That is to say, in the absence of a "license restriction" policy, the vast majority of consumers who choose to buy electric vehicles basically have a fuel vehicle at home before they dare to "try early".
Although each of them has different reasons for choosing electric vehicles, they are basically aimed at the "low cost" of electric vehicles, such as who bought this model? The female car owner of C in 3 is one of them.
C female car owner's model? 3 Just mentioned less than two months ago, the model is the lithium ferrous phosphate version just launched by Tesla. When the owner of C said her red model? When 3 was the version of lithium ferrous phosphate, I came straight to the point and said a hot topic on the Internet recently: "What is the version and model of lithium ferrous phosphate? 3 slow charging, lithium ferrous phosphate version of electric vehicles in winter endurance fracture "topic.
According to owner C's feedback, "Although it snows occasionally in winter here in Chengdu, there has never been a weather of tens of degrees below zero, so she has never met the lithium ferrous phosphate version? 3 The situation of battery life plunging. " And she also said, "The weather in Chengdu is very suitable for driving electric cars. It will not be too cold in winter, and the battery life will be obviously attenuated; Summer will not be too hot, there will be spontaneous combustion and fire. "
Talking about this, I actually said in my heart, "Now electric car owners, whether male or female, really know electric cars."
Of course, when asked why the owner C bought an electric car, the owner C smiled and said, "My previous fuel car broke down, so just buy a car to pick up the children. I usually drive in cities, so I don't have any anxiety about battery life. " "And I have installed charging piles at home and in my rural hometown. Now the weekly use cost is extremely low, and the cost is nothing compared with the previous fuel vehicles."
Meanwhile, Audi e-tron? The feedback from owner B can truly reflect the "careful calculation" psychology of the rich in Chengdu.
During the communication, we learned about this Audi e-tron? The owner of B used to be the owner of Audi, but because one of Audi's car models burned engine oil, the maintenance fee was very expensive, and Mr. B was "bitter". When repairing the car once, the 4S shop told him that some parts were broken and needed to be replaced. In addition, the maintenance cost is about tens of thousands of yuan. Mr. b knows nothing about cars, so he has to be slaughtered.
Before that, he heard that the maintenance cost of electric cars was low, so he took the opportunity of maintaining cars in 4S shop and went to the exhibition hall to have a look at e-tron cars. When he heard that it was good to buy this car without paying the purchase tax, Mr. B did not hesitate to swipe his card to buy this imported Audi e-tron.
In fact, in addition to not paying the purchase tax, the maintenance cost is much lower than that of the fuel Audi. The important reasons for attracting Mr. B to buy e-tron are: Audi cooperates with TEL and will send Mr. B a charging fee of 5,000 yuan every year. Mr. B's eyes seemed to light up when he said, "If you send 5,000 yuan of electricity every year, you will earn 40,000 yuan in eight years." . It can be seen from this that Mr. B is a rich man who likes to be cautious.
Maybe you will think that the "careful calculation" of a rich man like Mr. B is just an example, but it is not. An uncle around me is also well-off, and bought a Land Rover Range Rover (Executive Edition) many years ago. Because he is in business, the facade decoration of the car is essential.
However, in 20 18, after he accidentally bought a Weilai ES8, he basically stopped driving a Land Rover Range Rover when traveling in Chengdu. When asked about the reason, his answer was very grounded: "If you drive a Land Rover around, there won't be tens or hundreds of dollars in fuel costs. Driving an ES8 is basically free, and there are only a few thousand oil bills left in a month, let alone maintenance. One year's savings are really a lot. " So, now he bought an ES6… for his daughter …
I believe that in the eyes of many friends who don't own an electric car (including myself), the most incomprehensible thing is: Why are electric car owners willing to spend 200,000 to 300,000 yuan to buy an electric car, even though they know that the value of an electric car will be much lower than that of a fuel car in a few years? Therefore, during the interview, I am interested in buying Tucki P7 and Tesla models? 3. Audi e-tron and Tesla models? The owner of s must know.
Tucki P7? The owner of D said that his Tucki P7 had just been bought for about 3 months, and it was a long-life version (706km), which was the longest cruising range in this interview and the latest model version. Of course, not surprisingly, Mr. E is also a young man. His reason for buying an electric car is not based on low cost and cheap maintenance. The reason why he chose an electric car is simple. He enjoys experiencing new things.
So when we asked him if he spent more than 300,000 yuan to buy an electric car, would he be worried about the low rate of second-hand car preservation? He made it clear that there was no such consideration and worry. His idea that electric cars are toys rather than travel necessities may be the idea of most young consumers, who need more than electric cars.
D owners' knowledge of electric vehicles and Tesla models? s? E owner feedback is almost exactly the same, this one? We met at Tesla Super Charging Station before, but we didn't interview the owner of E that time. His model? S is the earliest batch of cars in Chengdu, and it is also a "blue card".
E owner bought this before? S, in his words, means "enjoying Tesla's driving sense" and "feeling of driving in the street". ? When we asked him if he was worried about the low insurance rate of used cars when he spent nearly a million dollars on an electric car, he said, "Did you buy a Model at that time? S, I thought that this kind of electronic product might be falling in price like a mobile phone, and I didn't pay much attention to the problem of the second-hand car's value preservation rate. Who knows that the price has fallen too sharply, and now the car is worth less than several hundred thousand, which is simply a bloody loss. However, fortunately, it is still not bad money. "
Meanwhile, the red model? 3? Female owners of Audi e-tron and B owners have similar attitudes towards the problem of electric vehicle maintenance rate. Models? The attitude of the female car owner is: "An electric car is also a car. Which car is not only open for a few years? " Your fuel car will be replaced after a few years of driving, and your electric car will be replaced after three or four years of driving, so the value-added rate of electric cars will not be low during this period. "
Audi e-tron? Mr. b's attitude is more official. He said: "The low survival rate of electric vehicles is due to the aging of batteries. My car has an eight-year warranty, and Audi will pay for anything that goes wrong. Besides, you have been driving for a few years, and after a few years, the technology and the number of electric vehicles are different. Wouldn't it be over to replace it with a newer and better electric car? What is there to worry about? " I nodded silently. Of course, there is nothing wrong. The happiness of the rich is that simple.
The high-quality service of new energy vehicles before and after sale is incomparable to traditional fuel vehicle brands, especially several high-quality brands in the new force of building cars. In this regard, Mr. F, the master of Li Yi, has the most say.
Different from other electric vehicles, Li ONE is an extended-range electric vehicle: burning oil generates electricity for the battery, and then the battery is output to the motor to drive the vehicle, which is simply an "oil-burning electric vehicle". It can be seen from Mr. F's special 6 km drive to this fast charging pile that Mr. F is also a consumer who values the use cost of new energy vehicles.
Mr. F told us that Li ONE's purchase was entirely accidental, because his work required frequent visits to the construction site, so he initially planned to buy Prado, a "magic car". However, at present, the purchase of Prado in Chengdu needs to increase the price by more than 80 thousand, and a new car is basically more than 500 thousand.
Because the "magic car" Prado is the seller's market, the sales staff in the 4S shop are arrogant. Mr. F, who "can't stand this malicious fare increase" and "was treated coldly", finally didn't buy Prado. Under the introduction of friends around him, Mr. F went to Li ONE store in Taikooli to see the new car.
In the process of looking at the car and experiencing it, Mr. F said: "I am a VIP of Li Yizhong Experience Store, and I am a person who is taken seriously. Unlike the previous Toyota 4S store, it is simply a feeling that "dogs look down on people". So, Mr. F paid 300,000 yuan (the original budget was 500,000 yuan) for the car and gave the full amount to Li on the same day. After several months of car experience, Mr. F was impressed by the advantage of quiet speed increase of electric vehicles, and another fuel vehicle at home was basically idle.
Of course, among the new forces to build cars, Weilai is the one that focuses on quality service, and Chengdu is no exception. According to my uncle's feedback, "Weilai's car may not be the most luxurious and the technology is not the best, but their service is absolutely first-class." "For example, in Weilai's mobile APP, there are often commissioners who ask questions, and they can also exchange feedback with leaders at close range, giving me a very cordial feeling. Think about it, can you meet or even communicate with the leaders of this small place (district or county) in real life? Definitely impossible. But Weilai can. Li Bin is a character. You can communicate with him on the APP. This experience will make you feel that Weilai is very real. "
"In addition to the mobile APP, they usually do a lot of activities, and some people will inform me, but I haven't been there several times because I am busy." "These are unmatched by traditional 4S stores. To put it bluntly, if you spend 600,000 to 700,000 yuan to buy a car, you may get a cold reception or even irony when you go to Porsche. Then why not spend 400,000 to 500,000 yuan to buy a Weilai that can hold you in the palm of your hand? " It can be seen that when consumers buy high-end electric vehicles, under the condition of ensuring safety, what matters more is whether your electric vehicles are worth the money, but whether the service experience is good.
As the city with the second largest number of private cars in China, and there is no restriction on lottery tickets at the same time, the future development possibility of Chengdu's new energy automobile market is obvious, and it is also regarded as "a battleground for military strategists" by the majority of new energy automobile enterprises. In the absence of "licensing restrictions", Chengdu can win the championship of the city with the largest sales volume of new energy vehicles in the whole year. First of all, it is inseparable from the attention and efforts of local governments and related enterprises. Most importantly, the infrastructure construction of charging piles far exceeds that of many big cities. Secondly, this is also inseparable from the consumption concept of Chengdu consumers. As long as the product advantages of new energy car companies, both Tesla and domestic models are willing to experience and pay the bill. Of course, in this process, many car companies, such as traditional brands, need to pay special attention to how to improve consumers' car purchase and after-sales experience, because this is very critical for avant-garde and sensitive electric car owners.
