When will Typhoon Putian come?

On July 28th, 2023, Typhoon Putian came.

This year's No.5 typhoon Du, centered at 2 1, about 305 kilometers south-east of Xiamen, Fujian, will land in Fujian on July 28. The maximum wind force near the center 16, 55 meters per second, super typhoon level. Du is expected to move northwest at a speed of 20 to 25 kilometers per hour. Affected by it, it is estimated that the maximum wind power in Xiuyu District, North Shore and Meizhou Island will reach 12 to 13 in the next 12 hours.

On the afternoon of the 27th, the wind in Putian gradually strengthened, and sporadic light rain began to appear. In Chengxiang District, roads and construction sites that are being repaired, such as Shengli North Street, Xueyuan South Street and Longdejing Street, have been surrounded by iron sheets to avoid the danger caused by typhoons, and the materials on the construction sites are neatly packed. At the road construction site outside Zhongshan Middle School, some construction workers are hanging no parking signs under the typhoon tree.

Matters needing attention in typhoon weather

1. Close the doors and windows. When the typhoon comes, especially the doors and windows facing the typhoon, you must lock them to avoid being blown open by the wind, which will cause the doors and windows to break and fly out and hurt passers-by.

2. You can't live in an old house. When the typhoon comes, you can't live in old houses or some temporary wooden houses for personal safety. These houses are unstable and easily blown down by typhoons, and their roofs are easily torn off by typhoons. You must move to a safe place in time.

3. Avoid sheltering from the wind and rain under the outdoor eaves. If you encounter a typhoon hanging outdoors, don't take shelter under the outdoor eaves, because when the wind is strong, there will be many sharp objects in the air, such as some broken glass and stones, which will be stabbed if you are not careful, and even life-threatening when it is serious. You should go into some shops or buildings to take shelter from the rain.
