Part 15 : My thoughts after reading Journey to the West

I think some people may say when they see the title: What’s so interesting about “Journey to the West”? I don’t even know how many versions there are in the TV series. Isn’t it just a lecturer? The four of us are going to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures. Who cares about these pediatrician things? It’s not like no one has said these things, but if you ask him how many chapters of this book ***, I don’t think many people can answer this “pediatric” thing. With the development of the world, few people begin to care. They are famous, but although some of them have been remade into TV series, few people watch them. Then let me give you a general introduction! The author of "Journey to the West" is Wu Chengen, a native of Huai'an, Jiangsu Province. This book has one hundred chapters per chapter, which can be divided into two parts. Chapters 1 to 12 are the introduction to the book, and chapters 13 to 100 are the theme of the story. The first few chapters of the book are about the origin of Sun Wukong and the havoc in the Heavenly Palace. Sun Wukong is a stone monkey with a bold and naughty nature. He became the king of Huaguo Mountain. He and his monkey descendants lived very happily. I remember that when I was in the first grade of junior high school, I learned part of it. One of the poems was: "Spring" Collecting flowers for food, harvesting fruits for life in summer, harvesting taro and chestnuts in autumn, and harvesting yellow flowers in winter.” This shows that he really lives a free life. But the good times did not last long. Because Sun Wukong acted daringly and caused trouble in the Heavenly Palace, he was suppressed by Tathagata Buddha at the foot of Wuzhi Mountain for five hundred years! Chapters 8 to 12 introduce another protagonist, Tang Seng. After Tang Seng appears, Sun Wukong is rescued and becomes his disciple, named Sun Wukong. The last part of the book is about Tang Monk, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Monk Sha, who went to the West to obtain scriptures. They experienced eighty-one hardships, defeated all kinds of demons and monsters, and finally obtained the true scriptures and achieved enlightenment. This is the general content of this book. Some people will only look at a thing or a book from the surface. Why not consider why the author wrote this book? Sun Wukong is the number one character in "Journey to the West". He is not afraid of anything, and causing havoc in the Heavenly Palace is a part of his glorious history. Sun Wukong was very brave as he slayed demons and monsters all the way. In him, I saw his optimism, mischief, bravery, flexibility, and freedom-loving spirit. He was a man full of fighting power, so he was eventually given the honorable title of "Victory Buddha". Oh, when I talk about this, I think of two lines of Chairman Mao's poems: "The golden monkey rises up with a mighty stick, and the jade sky clears thousands of miles." These two lines of poems really express his essential characteristics incisively! I personally think Sun Wukong is a hero full of positive romanticism. Zhu Bajie also leaves a deep impression on people, especially his shortcomings: good food, laziness, sleepiness, taking advantage, jealousy, likes to fiddle with things, and shrinks back when encountering difficulties, etc. Although he had many minor flaws, he was honest and honest, had no harmful intentions, and persisted to the end and won. Compared with Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie, Monk Sha still seems to have fewer stories and is relatively stupid, but without him, Monk Tang would be miserable! It is also impossible to obtain the scriptures. There are also a large number of demons in "Journey to the West". The author writes that the demons are cunning and bad guys, but they also have their own characteristics.

"Journey to the West" writes more about Sun Wukong. The author also hopes to use it to let us learn from his optimism and courageous spirit. He also hopes that in the future there will be more good people, less bad people, more optimistic people, and fewer sad people. There are more people who work hard and fewer people who give up. From Sun Wukong, I learned that we must be optimistic about life and be optimistic when facing difficulties.
